It really pays to get items from a reputable shop.

Thanks for sharing!

naku sir. di mo rin masu-sure. Here's a long read:

PROLOGUE: One time, nag-charge ako ng battery tapos nakatulog ako. So it needed replacement na.

Inutusan ko ang parents ko na bumili ng battery for my Nikon D5000 sa isang "reputable shop". Reputable, meaning they sell photography equipments and offer photography services, and they have several branches nationwide and their prices are premium.
You would think na original yung battery na nabili nila. The box has the Nikon aesthetics. But since reputable nga yung shop na binilhan nila, I let it pass. Siguro na-overcharge?" (side note: is it true na it's bad to overcharge the battery? Take note, nakatulog ako kaya naging overnight na yung charging. May twist pa ito. Read on.)

After a while, I noticed na madaling ma-drain yung battery. Minsan after an hour e empty batt na. Then one day, bumigay na yung cam.
Sabi ko dun sa repair shop (Prime Camera, which I highly recommend) power-related ang cause nung sira. Suffice it to say, na-revive ang camera ko.
Well, nung bumalik na sa normal size yung battery, ipinasak ko ulit dun sa D5000, and wouldn't you know it, nag-work ulit!
But I digress. Sapagkat pinagdudahan ko na yung bagong battery, nag-Duckduckgo ako about the battery life of D5000. That search lead me to Nikon's advisory on how to detect counterfeit batteries. I checked my new battery against the one na lumobo, and they showed significant differences.
After this revelation, I printed that web page, made copies of the receipts nung battery na binili ko sa kanila at nung repair ng camera ko. At since may pagka-vigilante ako, sumugod ako dun sa "reputable shop" and I brought my parents w/ me kasi sila naman yung bumili. I calmly explained to the sales clerk na nasira ang camera ko dahil sa battery na nabili ko sa kanila. I demanded a replacement. (So parang pinoint out na ako yung may diperensya). In the end, she caved and she will call central office daw para palitan na yung battery. Dagdag ko pa, make sure it's original. So iniwan ko sa kanila yung fake battery along w/ the copy of my "evidence" (receipts, Nikon advisory, comparison pics).

Daming clues. hehe). Although hindi na ako bibili sa kanila. Yung printing service naman nila ay maganda.
