For me is the d300s replacement  ;D :D ;) ::).
Hirap kasi ngayon kumuha ng d300s  kasi malapit na mareplace. Kaya kumuha lang muna ako ng d7000 as my bridge camera but it turns out to be a very good one.
This is not an easy question to answer kasi marami i-consider like lenses, users, budget, usage, etc. A never ending thread. Ang advantage ng d300s is better AF and subject tracking, higher frame rate, better body built, and more choices and versatile bracketing. If those are not important to you the d7k is for you and you can wait for another 2-3 years before changing your body!!!IMHO.

The D300s is better in some ways, and then much worse in others.

The D7000 has Nikon's latest technology, though not as robustly built as the D300s.

The problem is that in the technology world, the D300s is close to being a dinosaur. But even "dinosaur" cameras can still be used to take better pictures -- I mean, look at some GREAT photographs taken with Holgas, or, digitally speaking, circa 2002 (I think Thom Hogan's current page, as of today, for instance, is a 2002 dated picture). Link -> www.bythom.com

Personally? Even with the D7000's arrival, I would still prefer the D300s BUT it has to be considerably cheaper than the D7000 for me to take a bite at "older" technology. For instance, the D7000 is currently around 56k (give or take) -- I would get the D300s only if it was, say, a max of 40k or so. Otherwise, the D7000 is newer in all ways, and is easily worth it's price over the D300s (which, by the way, is still being sold by Nikon [at retail] at a higher price than the D7000.

As some obnoxious guys says (i.e., Ken Rockwell), because there are still people who are willing to pay for it (the higher price of the D300s).

Anyway, that's my PERSONAL opinion, about it. I'm sure others will have differing opinions.

Same Dilemma for me except I have the 7d thrown in as well. They are very closely priced together.

I did find that the D7000 might be better suited for me though. As I am not a PRO and the sturdy built of the 7d and D300s comes with weight. Something most people don't really take note of.

Plus the D7000 is newer. Ideally the D300s successor should address most issues with this confusion. But it will be probably be very expensive. So for me the D7000 is the best choice for hobbyists/enthusiasts

Here's a snippet from Ken Rockwell:
Quote
Forget the old Nikon D300s. The newer D7000 costs less and is superior. Nikon still sells the old D300s for more money because it can, but don't you fall for it.

The D300s offers faster frame rates on paper for sports, but I find that the D7000 is still faster overall because it's newer and smarter. If you're a serious sports shooter, you should have a D3s instead.

That's why, unless the D300s is significantly cheaper (i.e., today, I consider around 40k for a D300s to warrant the "significantly cheaper" criteria for me to invest in the D300s, vis-a-vis the current P56,500 price of the D7000), then there would be no point in getting the D300s.

FWIW, as of right now, there is a seller [mouthdrummer] of the Nikon D300 (without the "s") selling at P35k; while I don't think it's a great bargain, it's good enough to seriously consider, unless you really want the features of the "s" counterpart. Link here (might be a dead link once it's sold) -> http://www.pinoyphotography.org/forum/index.php?topic=81242.0

EDIT: I did some re-reading of comparison between the D300 vs D300s, and I think the D300 for sale (link in paragraph above) is very good deal.
DISCLAIMER: I have no idea who the seller is and in no way affiliated with him/her.

question is san ba gagamitin?

for me ah:)

usually sir sa events, but sometimes di rin naman maiiwasan na mag studio kahit papano.
