Why don't you check out dponline or JT Phtoshop, or Photohub I think they are selling the 4GB Sandisk Extreme 3 SD card for 1680 a little over your budget

Head to CD-R king and look for Kingston. Been using this brand for 3 years now and I didn't encounter any problems "yet" even in heavy use. You can also check the serial number of your mem card through Kingston website for validation.

Kingston SDHC.  I bought this as a spare to my San Disk Extreme III and I have not regretted doing so.  It is a bit slower on the write cycle but unless you expect to do extensive burst shooting, it will do very well.  I've even used it on video on the 500D.

If your not doing sports photography might as well consider kingston, RI DATA or something less expensive than the Sand Disk Extreme versions. For me, I don't like using 16gb or higher (if any) memory cards.... I like 8gb alot...

I've been using Transcend 8gb SDHC C6 for my 450d since I got it early this year. No problems with it whatsoever.

Ingat lang sa Ridata and PQI.  Had corrupted files with both these brands - Lightning Series for Ridata.  Forgot which series for the PQI.  Search this forum for more on corrupted files.

i've also tried the kingston SDHC and ok naman so far. Class 4 nga lang that's why it's a bit slow pero pwede na for regular shoots.  ;)
