Those who attended the NCP anniversary yesterday at Manila Zoo arent asking anymore since Anderson Tan of Columbia Phil brought the D300s. I was not able to ask about new lenses as I was hoping to win invites to the launching of Nikon new items. Darn, I didnt win invites. We'll just have to wait for the official launch.

Mr. Anderson Tan with the new D300s

Zoomed 1:1 sorry a bit blurry but you can make out the label....D300s

Andy said its gonna be expensive but didnt say the actual price though. Cant wait for reviews for this baby.  If this is better than the D300 it might rain with D300 in the for sale section.

If this is a real upgrade then they will not name it D300s, instead a d400 or more. However, I still feel a little bit excited ( as I always do whenever a new camera product is released from Nikon, Canon, Oly, etc.).....I have "vaccinated" myself with Anti-GAS serum so maybe I will be able to pass on this one.....hopefully the "vaccine" will work..............................!!! :) :) :)

During discussions at the anniv, I believe it was mentioned that it still maintained the 12MP sensor but added the video modes.  So I'm guessing they just carried over the sensor/video modes from the D90/D5000.

The high ISO handling was also considered to have improved from the original D300 (at least from very quick test shots taken).  I'd say it was also brought to the level of the D90/D5000.  It's not as muddy as the old D300.

The dual card slots were confirmed (CF and SD).  However, we didn't test if pictures could be written simultaneously to both cards ala the D3/D3x.

retina: pa share naman ng bakuna mo  :o :o :o

paolo: nge! paano napasok sa usapan yun 50mm hahaha  ::)

well...really want to join yesterday...kaya lang sinisipon ako.

im just excited about what innovations it had over the current D300...if its just a stop-gap model with no real advances over the current model then id say that this is just boring and only a marketing move to keep consumers excited.

maybe its just the same old D300 with movie capabilities...who knows?

nikon had been very creative and aggresive in their marketing these days...so was canon,in the form of the magnificent and reasonably priced 5Dm2

in my opinion, pag umabot ito beyond 75k or 80k,people would just ignore this camera and buy the next best thing instead...the D700. or just buy the most sensible thing around - the Nikon D90.

psynic: nge...i was hoping that it would be a little bit more exciting than that  :P

I didnt know there is antidote for GAS..... and I thought the cure for AH1N1 is what we're waiting for.   I need the serum too !!!

I think GAS is not  that deadly but more "dangerous"( to your bank account)  than the Ah1n1( at least you will get free tamiflu from DOH).....so, GAS in this forum is in pandemic state!!

retina: pa share naman ng bakuna mo
Rico, may problem lang sa "vaccine" ko!!! You will lost interest sa photography mo and you are going to sell your gears in FS at rock bottom price!!!! Ha ha ha ha opppsss sorry OT na!!!
