and yes, imho pictures taken and when viewed on a 2.5 inches screen at most case doesnt show flaws in the picture and when viewed on a computer you then realises a lot of flaws.so nevertheless 3 inches screen are good and they dont come in entry model unit.

technically, yes, a body upgrade might equate to better image quality in the sense that a body upgrade might improve sharpness, noise, dynamic range, contrast, saturation, color accuracy, tone, etc.

holistically, the body/camera is just as good as the photographer. you might have the best tool that would give you better IQ but if you still don't have the artistic skill to use that body, you still come up with an "ah... ok" picture.

now, if you are already extremely talented using a camera phone and you upgrade to a DSLR, yes, it would result to better photos.

it's more of a 60-40 or 70-30 or an 80-20 split between camera and photographer (more on the photographer skills). it's not enough to have the skills, you need to compliment it with the correct/better tools.

I just upgraded from D80 to D90 last month. Sisi na ako bakit hindi ako nag D300.  :(

Benta mo na lang sa akin  ;D

Kung wala sa cam yan eh sana isang lumang SLR (film) at isang lente lang (50mm malamang) ang lahat ng propesyonal dito.

imho... upgrading to a better body would surely result to better output but is the difference worth it with regards to the money spent for such... For just a hobbyist like me, i always believe that i have to first maximize the capabilities of my current rig to its limits by improving my shooting skills and not my equipment... as per my average shooting skills, as long as i do not improve it, i will just be wasting money for an upgrade...

in the hands of a very capable photographer, I think if he had 2 bodies and will take the same picture, the picture will look better in the better body... tama? :D

Hehehe!

I'll get the 50D and train myself to be better than ansel adam.

Even if you crucify me, I wont trade a 50D with a 300D.

A better question is, who would you rather be?

a nobody with 50D or a the same nobody with 300D?

Can also be:

a great photog with 50D or the same great photog with 300D?

The TS wants to know if an upgrade of the body will produce him better photos. I would like to believe that the TS is aware that no body-upgrade will make him at par with his idol photog, unless he puts more work into it.

Just a thought.

Cheers!

+1 on this, body upgrade or a lens for that matter would only mean better image in terms of technical aspects, but as for composition and message conveyed by a photo, it's still in the hands of the one behind the camera.  A body upgrade would only translate to better photos if given in the hands of a good photographer being limited by the technical capability of an older body. :)

from 1000D to 10D.. i don't know if it's a downgrade or an upgrade.. but both cam are still with me.. the only thing i noticed with my 10D and 1000D is that my 1000D gives a more enhanced color output compared to my 10D.. meaning, my 10D gives a natural color..

from enrty level to mid-level SLR?
it feels a little better when shooting mid-level SLR because it adds some weight and better grip..
