Mga bossing tanong lang sorry di ko alam if may topic na about this:

Shall i buy an EF 24-70mm F/2.8 L USM or EF-S 17-55mm F/2.8 IS USM or a 17-40 f/4 L USM?

I am using a canon 400d and i want to upgrade the kit lens (i currently have a 50mm prime, 55-250 telephoto, and the kit lens) i am a shoot everything hobbyist lang mga sir

i know that the 24-70mm is one of the best out there, the thing is i dont have a FF body and i have no plans to buy an FF in the future, so ang magiging maximum wide range ko eh 38mm na baka di favorable for group shots and landscapes.

the 17-55 naman i read a lot of good reviews also and best for cropped bodies daw talaga. the thing is the make is not as nice as the L so baka durability wise hindi siya worth for its price kasi ang mahal na rin.

17-40 sa range ok pero gusto ko sana yung faster capability nung 2 nauna.

ano kaya mga masters?

your topic says "...in place of the range of 18-55 kit" so definitely 17-55 ang sagot, minus 1 lang difference.  ;)  ;D

When there are questions like this, I often shoot some questions back, particularly ones that only you can answer.  So for you:

1) Why do you need to replace the kit lens?  What's wrong with it?
2) What do you need?  Speed?  Long?  Wide?  IQ?  Image stabilization?  Convenience?  Price?  Weight?  Pogi points?  (Hint: it's impossible to get all of these in one lens.)
3) Have you considered other alternatives?  Flash?  Better ISO?  Strobes?
4) Instead of investing in hardware, have you considered investing in your wetware?  Books?  Seminars?  Travel opportunities to practice?

bah... 17-55 is ang gusto ni bossing. :)

if you can justify the cost of the lens you want to buy, then go for it. aba e kung marami naman po kayong bala na pwedeng iwaldas sa hobby nyo, ok lang bumili ng mamahaling lente. pero kung medyo tight ang budget, meron namang alternatives dyan. ;)
