If you want a more pro like body, get a used D50 or D70/s.  You can get it for the price of a new D40 kit.  both these models have built in focus motor and LCD screen on top.
Be good to the people you meet on your way up because they will be the same people you will meet on your way down.

Hi guys sadly the deal was cancel and daming dumating na kailangan bilin kaya nabawasan ang ipon. It so sad talaga the deal i thought i could save up. Then my wife asked me to go to Green hills. Sa green hills my wife look for a cellphone case, for his brand new LG cookie. I'm still sad kasi hindi ako ung nakakuha nung camera. Then my wife knows na I will be happy to see gundam toys so she asked me to Vira Mall. Upon arriving sa mall, I saw the list of shop sa vira mall and then I SAW PIXEL PRO. We immediately went to the store to look.  Upon arriving, I saw DSLR!!! And right then and there, I asked ate magkanu d40? Sir 23,500k sir with 4gb sd and bag with 2yrs store waranty. My ears clap when it heard the 2 yrs warranty. Then my wife suggest it to better buy a brand new rather than the 2nd hand. baka biglang bumigay din papagawa mo same lang magagastos mo. Then dalidali kami nag withdraw.. It took me 7 times to insert my card sa kakamadali.. Mali mali napipndot kung password at amount and maximum amount. hehehe.. Now I'm so happy hehehe... Satisfied with my D40 hunting adventure. Kahit ala masyadong freebies..okay na okay sya hehe..

mga kuyas and ates.. 14 year old boy here po just want to ask po if what D-slr camera would suit me well po? WALA po talaga akong alam sa mga terms na ginagamit sa d-slr but i want to have one talaga. my birthday is nearing and my father agreed to buy me one.. ang pinipili namin ay canon 1000d or any entry leven nikon below 35k or sony asomething na may 2 libreng lenses po... i would use the camera po mostly in the arena in san juan pag naglalaro po ako ng volleyball games po don and pati narin sa pag visit sa ibang countries kasi frequent travellers po kami.

I suggest going for nikon or canon for your first DSLR becasue since you do not have the budget to buy your own gear both brands have third party accessories and lenses that are cheaper offered here in the country. Also canon has a service center here and nikon has columbia to fix an problems. HTH
| Canon S100 | Canon 5D MarkIII |Canon 50D | Canon EF 16-35 f2.8 L | Canon EF 24mm f1.4 L II | Canon 50mm f1.4 | Canon EF 85 f1.2 L | Canon EF 24-105 f4 L IS | Canon EF100mm f2.8 L IS Canon EF | 70-200 f4 L IS | Canon 580 EXII |

Hello!!!! Dude ipon lang hehe..go for an semi pro slr na!!! Pero I'm happy with it kasi light weight. And I always travel a lot and a light weight DSLR is best suited to me and I won't go to professional photography. I go for a Nikon D60 and higher. My wife have a d90 and ibang iba ang dating kung galing ka d40. Pero I don't regret it kasi whenever my wife and I go out, we choose to bring the d40 kasi mas magaan at hindi hassle pag lumabas kami tulad ng dinner lang and minsn gala sa labas at pde mag kodakan.

Pero advice ko lang. If your going to get pro, get a semi pro camera, canon 450D offers a good semi pro feature sa presyong 35k hehe. if your on a tight budget go for a D60 or D40 (like me). I heard nga from forums that third party lenses like tamron and sigma ka be use by both nikon and canon. Never heard of pentax and sony used it before.

Hello kapwa Pipho
I'l be getting a lens after a year or so.

For me you can go with the D90 (nikon user po kase ako  :) ) then try find a third party lens na either 17-50/24-70/ or 18-200 to start your new hobby.
