« on: May 04, 2009, 05:30:53 PM »
This is my second EN-EL3e nag magkagproblema na ganito. It's not charging, the light will blink 3 times and then that's it. Alam nyo ba kung pano maayos? or Busted na talaga sya?

Thanks

hi!

had a similar problem with my en-el3e.

i used it at an event until the low battery indicator in by d80 blinked in the finder.  i was not able to charge it for around a week or so.

when i charged it, the light on the charger started blinking, indicating that the battery was being charged. after a few minutes, the indicator light stopped blinking.

i checked the battery in my d80. true enough, it wasn't charged.

i just left the battery in my charger the whole day.

at the end of the day, i checked the battery again using my d80.

at first, the battery meter in the d80 indicated that the battery was not yet charged. i turned off my cam, then turned it on again. this time the battery meter indicated that the battery was fully charged.

i used the battery to shoot 300+ shots last weekend. today, the battery meter on the d80 is at 3 bars out of 5.

anyway. looks like the battery is ok now.

it was a weird experience though...

hope this helps.
try to get things right before firing the shutter. it's harder to fix things later using software. you're better off doing something else... like taking more pictures. =)

a firmware update for Nikon D80 may fix this.  ;)

How about using a different charger so you can determine if the problem is in the battery or the charger.  Try borrowing one.  Never had the same problem with my EN-EL3e but I remember I had a similar problem with my previous P&S, yun pala sira yung charger.

I've cleaned the contact spots. I've also tried a different charger, still ganun pa din. :(

The charger will blink 3 times then stopped blinking.
