ok here are some actual pics from the 50d

This was taken last wednesday on my way home, i just snapped away from the passenger seat we are probably about 10 to 15 kph

mooncake festival pala, give away from canon :D

Shot with a flash

No flash, and used the "new" live view and face detection.

Visit my Flickr for original sizes
http://www.flickr.com/photos/tekgik/sets/72157607275211451/
WARNING big file sizes 4MB up.

Im impressed with the high ISO shots it is as clean as the 5D, actually i find it a little bit cleaner it might be because of the High ISO noise reduction option. Im seeing that they have improved the color noise.

You wont be seeing the "3D'ish" IQ that a 5D can create, its a different level camera after all. But for resolution yes it is well defined.

I didnt take note of the lighting optimizer and high iso NR settings, i was hoping that i can see it via image browser and wala pala :/

what does "3d-ish" mean? is it comparable to the images of the clouds when you are using a cpl?

Jerrick, the 5d has a more detail and the depth of field is different from a crop camera, making the images more 3dish...

Regie noise-wise, do you think pareho lang siya sa 5d?

there's also more contrast because the dynamic range is also better...

Sometimes you read about images having POP or elements POP-out.

That's what we mean by 3D-ish.

Galing ng high ISO shots!  It's really one stop cleaner.  3200 (50D) as clean as (somewhat cleaner) to 1600 (450D).  1600  (50D) as clean as 800 (450D).

Canon delivered well on this one.

Jerrick, agree with lehboy and Dave.

FF (FUll Frame) sensor is aprox. 1.6 bigger. The local contrast of every detail is much better on a FF cam and thats one of the reason it pops out. There are lots of articles /discussions about it on the net and il probably not tackle that anymore since Image Quality (IQ) wise comparing an FF sensor to a crop sensor (smaller - APS-C) is not a fair fight, but anyway at least we now know that even though it has an 15MP sensor it cannot make those 3d'ish images.

The LCD is usable in broad daylight. I got 1 error 99 yesterday im suspecting my dirty lens contact and probably because the firmware on this 50D is still in beta.

On the final review i will try to make a side by side comparison of a 40d and 50d.

Was able to try the 50D yesterday (c/0 Reggie).  I must say it is a very big leap and improvement from 40D.  The grip is now comfortable to hold, the LCD is really clear.  Although, wasn't able to try high iso (no situation to use because it was sunny).  Very nice!  Kudos to Canon with the 50D :)

OT:  Nice to meet you Reggie.  The 300mm lens rocks!!!! Solid sa ganda and bigat din! hahaha  :D
