Lion-Alayan Capisaan Cave System
« on: August 28, 2008, 03:40:00 PM »

Introduction: Capisaan Cave System (Lion - Alayan)
Brgy. Capisaan, Malabing Valley, Kasibu town, Nueva Vizcaya

The fifth longest cave system in the country and ranked among of the best, considered a geologist’s paradise due to its varying rare calcite formations and unique stalagmite and stalactite formations. Within its four kilometer length is a subterranean river that doubles as a passageway to the best part of this multi-chambered cave. Part of the cave network are the Lion and Alayan Caves, measuring 4.2 kilometers.  (from WOW philippines website)

The very cold water is usually just knee deep.  But there are times when it's up to the waist... at kung papalarin, hanggang leeg.  At minsan may mga tumutulo pang tubig galing taas   ;D  Be prepared to climb, crawl like a soldier, walk like a duck, make yourself fit small holes.

An ultra low light environment.  Your only source would be two lamps (Hasag), and your flashlights/headlamps.  Cameras with high ISOs will work wonders on this cave.  Un nga lang there's a great risk of your camera getting wet.

4 hours and 19 minutes!

Day 1:

syempre siya may dala ng ilaw kaya sa kanya ako dumidikit... where there is light there is no blur  :)

set up kaagad ng tripod... at nagshoot... nga pala manual focus 'to (trial and error)

pahinga muna... back to work  :)

most of the time I was shooting with a tripod... kung hinde, ISO 1600, handheld... kahit grainy pwede na...

i was holding a dry bag tsaka tripod na puro gasgas (pag nagpost ako ng tripod sa FS section, wag nyo bibilhin) kaya mahirap din sumuot sa mga maliit na butas tsaka umakyat.

our lead guide... sa alayan cave...

ingat sa pag-akyat... madulas

more rock formations looking up...

Nice set lambootz! Galing galing talaga! I remember yung road trip namin last year sa Biak-na-Bato. Doon pa lang, there were times na mahirap magsetup ng tripod. Paano pa kaya dito sa Alayan Cave!!! Kaya ako, saludo din sa'yo! ;)

Congrats, Jolan!
