Wonderful shots.  What setting & lens did you use?

I tried shooting a basketball game but the shots are either frozen but waaaaaay to dark or bright but blurred.

thanks change... I use a 70-200 2.8, sometimes a 50 1.8... settings really depend on the location of the shoot... for Blue Eagle Gym, when they turn on all the lights I can go F3.2 1/320 or F2.8 1/400... and that's a little under... better to have a high shutter and under than right exposure but blurred... you can always fixed the exposure via PP...

Thanks for the tips.

I'm shooting in a school gym and the only strong light source is by the entrance.  Not all the lights are on and the windows which are up the bleachers don't bring in so much light either.

I'm only using a 55-200mm f5.6.  1600 iso , +5.0 EV, no flash, 200 yun shutter.  The pictures came out like I shot the black part of the illustration board.

Is there anyway around this with out having the get the 2.8 lens?

there's no work around for a big aperture unless you use flash to freeze motion.  But using flash in games is frowned upon

If you're on a budget, get the 50 1.8... that would get you a long way...

Thanks. Looks like I might get that sooner than I think.
