nikkor 50mm f/1.4 can be bought for php8500 at Mayer's.

i'm eyeing the 85mm f/1.8. does anyone have this lens? feed back please :D

I was able to get a second hand 85mm 1.8 for only 10k a few months back. It was practically brand new, it came complete, with a UV filter thrown in. Like the 50mm 1.8, another great, fast lens. Very sharp. A good partner to the 50mm 1.8. Ideal as well for indoor sports where you don't need to zoom. I love it!

Don't think twice, the bokeh is amazing and it's sharp wide open.  Focusing speed is about the same as the 75-300 IS.  Not that slow really but makes up for it in accuracy(slow but sure).  Check out my old thread at the old forum http://s7.invisionfree.com/PiPho/index.php?showtopic=3542

I've read in some reviews na may problema daw yung focusing ng 85 1.2L. how true?

May Mark II of the 85L na lumabas last week... I'm thinking of getting that. How much did you get for your 85L? 90 kaya? If the Mark II will be priced the same as the old 85L, nako mauubos naman allowance ko n2.  ;D

Got mine for 87,800 php.  There's no problem with its focusing, its quite accurate  and nice to focus manually due to the long travel/throw. DOF at 1.2 is razor thin and this accounts for that impression by some people, you just have to know how to use it and be careful where you focus it.

The Mark II has an updated ring USM(old one also has ring USM, contrary to some reports)with a shorter throw, which translates to faster AF and Full time "mechanical" manual focusing whereas the old one had full time "electronic" manual focusing(or focus by wire).  The list price of the new 85L is 2000 dollars so it'll be more expensive than the old 85L

order basis.  Got it from Infomax Parksquare, bilis lang, around 10 days from confirmation of order(at least 20K downpayment) to pick-up.

Slow for action shots, but will do for portraiture applications.  Wait for the new Mark2, USD2100 vs. USd 1500 for the old model.
Leica M8.2, M6, Canon EOS 7D, Canon EOS 1V HS & Tons of glass my wife will never know. Horizon 202, Panasonic LX5, Canon G9, Nikon FG, Olympus C3030z.
