your diy dry box has to be sealed... kasi papasok pa rin ang moisture kung hindi...

you can buy those anti slip kitchen mat tops... actually, yung sa pic ata placemat :)

Hello nelman.. share ko lang experience ko on my DIY drybox.. I'm also kinda new with the drybox thing pero based on what I've read regarding fungal growth.. fungus needs at least 70% RH to grow so I make sure my drybox is about 50-60% RH.. di ko pinapalampas ng 60% just to be extra safe..  :)

@syuter - i also use a 10L Lock n Lock box.. I use about 8 - 12 packets of silica gel (box of 25 packets bought at True Value) mas maganda if you have a hygrometer para may basis ka. Pag tumaas yung RH (about 60% and above) a few mins after closing the box.. that means the silica gel needs charging..

@rave, where did you exactly buy your 10L Lock n Lock box? hirap maghanap ng ganyan kalaki!

Yup yup... placemat po yun.. cut in half.. heheh.. Bought it sa SM department store.  :D underneath is a plastic grill type tray thingy that comes with the box.. sa ilalim nun naka lagay yung 12 packets of silica gel. ;D

Hello.. sa SM department store ko nabili yang box.. meron din sa SM supermarket. Actually 2 types ang 10L ng Lock and Lock. Yung isang type is longer pero much lower yung height.. and merong parang switch of some sort sa top cover. Once pa lang ako nakakita ng ganun - more expensive than the box that I have.

oo nga eh... pero meron daw cheaper, but just like you, I couldn't seem to find a salesperson who knows what a hygrometer is... you can also try infomax, 750 ang digital nila, pero as big as an old PDA :)
