Random Shots of Bora
« on: April 04, 2008, 08:15:33 AM »
Hi,
I'm new here. I picked up my first SLR (a Canon AE-1) when I was 13yo. I still have that camera but I've been off this hobby for many years when I decided to get a Nikon D80 last month and rediscover the joy of spending the day shooting images.

I'd like to share some photos I took in Bora last weekend. Here are sample shots. The rest can be found here:

Hope you like 'em

Of course, there's always the bangka shots...

Nice Grant, I like photo #3 a lot. Great depth and texture. the water looks a bit uninviting with the algae. Was it the same situation down to station 2 and 1?

Thanks Olivert. I feel bad about some of the shots that were kinda grainy due to my forgetting to reset the ISO back to 100 after setting it at 1600 the previous night.

Hi Marty,
Yup there was a lot of algae this time around especially in Station 0 (?).
There was a bit of algae in Stations 1 and 2 but they thin out after about 3 meters from the shoreline.
Looking at the bright side, the lumot added more greens to the shots. :D

Good shots, Grant.  Set your cam's auto-ISO so you won't have to make the mistake again hehe.

Sa-jin, yes sya nga yun naka thongs. he lies down on the beach and switches position every few mins so he gets a perfectly even tan.

yojimbo,
Thanks pero auto-iso is disabled in manual mode kasi..unless I'm missing something :)
