you can also check your cf card reader with other cf cards...it could be the reader....could be bent pins.
Think out of the box.

Sir, if the camera can view the pics, its possible that you can download the pics using your camera and the USB. Sir, puwede matanong kung ito ba yung 133x na ridata? I have an 80x 1GB ridata and so far no problems... yet. Although I will probably get a sandisk 2GB Extreme III.

JP, kamusta Sandisks mo?  :)

just my 2 cents try sending an email sa ridata about your problem and call up its local distrubutor and ask for data recovery and replacement of your cf's  ;)
- this is what i did. I got my precious photos free of charge and brand new CF's

very happy ako sa sandisks ko bro. kahit di siya ganun ka gamit lately sobrang bilis niya. and i think i will stick na with this brand. i remember sir john telling in one of the threads that a good cf card is part of your gear. your investment is saved there. it is as essential as the camera and the lens. :)

Same thing happened to my Ridata SD card.  I can view the pictures from my camera but not in the PC.  I had my IT recovered the pictures using Microsoft office 2007 (don't know waht specific software) will update the thread how he did it.

Anyway, most people I know experience this problem with Ridata..  I recommend Sandisk for your CD and SD card needs

My piece of advise to newbies and hobbyists. we have spend a fortune in acquiring our equipment - cameras and lenses... why save a few hundreds on an unreliable CF cards. In my kind of work, where the client spends half a million pesos for a Sikosky S 76 helicopter and I tell my client I have nothing to show because my CF card is corrupt. Thats the end of my career. The price between a Riadata and Sandisk is one thousand pesos (I think) so dont make tipid the wrong way. Better have One Sandisk CF card than 10 Riadata CF cards.

Of Course, I cannot afford Lexar Cf cards, They are expensive!!!! Sandisk is cheaper ( same old story). Different brands lang ::)  MagicEye

a nice reminder would be is what good are your cameras and lenses if you can't save and store properly the shots you've got with them. :)

Sandisk Ultra/Extreme cards and Lexar Platinum/Professional cards come with limited lifetime warranty. I believe these should be a good investment even if you have no plans of going serious into photography. For card readers, get a good brand for peace of mind, there are a lot of options but this is the one I've been using, quite old already but is still fast enough for me.

'dreng Michael, funny how we were just @ Nikon Phil. discussing my Sandisk CF card that froze twice. I bought the new Lexar 300X and I'm so impressed with it, I placed an order for 2 more. By the way, my new Sandisk (replacement) is also on the way. It was defective after all.

Hey Rodell,

Here, the OP was able to figure out that the main problem was the reader and not the card and it looks like you are totally satisfied with your new UDMA card  ;D
Glad to hear everything is in order now specially with the replacement Sandisk card.
I for one would like to pickup another Lexar 8GB UDMA card probably after I unload my 4GB MicroDrive on ebay.

just want to share guys, me and a friend have the same experience with the same camera with different brand of xd card. the camera is the olympus 720w, when we are abt to copy the photos thru a card reader we have the same experience still as to date that windows ask for a reformat of the said xd card. Buti nalang hinde namin ginalaw and the solution is getting the files thru the data cable (USB) to transfer, So lesson dont leave your data cable behind. ;)
