Im using the opteka battery grip and sad to say w/ 1 batt it looses its juice on the meter quickly (error info but power still up) and the camera stops working when the batt is disaligned.  I guess in order for  it to work w/out problems is to use  2 enl3 batts or 4 double a batts.  Itll stil work w/ 1 although it is clunky and often times the battery is rocked inside so it stops working.  As far as handlings, its great.  The d50 is nice to hold already but wd the grip its so much better.  REally nice to shoot w. the grip coz it  feels great in your hands.
