1st prime lens? 24mm F2.8 STM vs 50mm f1.8 of Canon
« on: February 24, 2016, 07:42:13 PM »
Planning to get my first prime lens and which of the two would be a better choice?
The 24 mm f2.8 stm
or the
50mm f1.8 version from canon?
Thanks in advance

For group shots & semi landscape Go for the 24mm. For portrait, headshots, & bokeh Go for the 50mm.  :)

Thanks for the advises.
Will be using indoors for groupies, that is the primary purpose.

24mm

I agree get the 24mm if 2.8 is not a problem with you indoors.

2.8 will give you (possibly) at least f/3.5-5.6 as the sharpest apertures. Will depend sa camera to subject distance and technique though.
