At this point I can live with what Sony and others can offer. For my style more than adequate na. Pero bakit di pa ako nagshishift? Kasi magastos. In fact bumili pa nga ako ng d750. If I can extend the mileage of my current system for as long as I can, the better. Besides marami pang product innovations na dadating kaya by just sitting on the fence, you might save a lot of money. Sa ordinary Juan like most of us, mabigat.
So we don't need to debate, we put forward our personal opinion and then shoot!!! Peace be unto you, Pipho.

When mirrorless can match or exceed dslrs in performance, then maybe I will considered switching systems.
Who knows, Canon and Nikon will probably have their own "serious" mirrorless offerings by then.

This is very subjective and personal.  How you define performance will be different for other photogs.  Is your definition more on AF-C and FPS?  Or is it IQ? or lens selection and performance based on those lenses you want to use?

AF tracking, low light AF, EVF lag and battery life are quantifiable performance metrics. The personal choice is whether the photographer accepts the limitations to gain the advantages that mirrorless systems bring.

Thats debatable, a lot of landscape photographers used a 5dmark2 before 5dmark3 came out versus the 1d because they defined performance metrics as IQ more than AF Tracking.  Even AF tracking although quantifiable does not mean the same thing for all shooters.  A birder will have a different threshold for performance versus someone who shoots surfing.

Leica lens shooters defined performance based on whether their RF lenses will perform well on the body (smudging, vignettes, color shifts).  Even the a7r vs a7s had varying performance with ultra wide rf lenses mounted.

Maybe what you wanted to say was for YOUR USE and your personal set of acceptable performance metrics mirrorless is not yet there.  For some of us they have already reached and even surpassed what we wanted.

I was speaking for myself. Where did I state that mirrorless performance is unacceptable for anybody else?
I merely stated that there are not enough reasons for ME to switch systems at this point.

maganda ang product direction ng mirrorless? that is only true for Sony. I cannot say the same for Fuji and Panasonic/Olympus. :o :o :o Sony is leading the way, they are creating new avenues while the other companies are just recycling their technologies. unless Fuji comes out with the rumored medium format X, paikot ikot lang sila sa sensor nila. ::)

Siguro inaaliw lang nila ang mga customers while waiting for the new sensor technology. At least yong Oly my multi shot sensor shift at IBIS but for now parang gimmick pa lang yan. The thing is Sony is leading the pack and she is the mother of all the mirrorless. Unless magdamot sya at ideny nya yong mga sensor nya. That will never happen anyway with the mind set of the Japanese.
Yong Fuji naman well, as you've said before, it is still a one trick pony. Despite of that kumikita naman daw yong mga highend camera nila ng katiting. I wish them well and I hope they will reach a profitable margin to continue with their business. They have some following but still a niche market.I like their after sales support in the Philippines. For now, my main menu is still the DSLR. Desert lang nag mga compact. I have yet to get my first mirrorless system.

:P  There will always be a place for the CX system in the Nikon world. You just have to rationalize its usage. But this is for all intents, a New Sony camera thread. Can't wait to tryout the new A7rII. Some colleagues are all agog on its supposed supercharged sensor.

He he he...ganon lang pala gagawin ko para mabuhay si Larry. Yes, sorry for throwing an elbow on the CX system. The Nikon 1 system has its own merits.... but will it win the hearts and money of the community? It is not bad if Nikon will start showing new techs and innovations. IMHO. Now back to original topic.

Hehehe, OK lang Dok. Been using their Sony RX1r for quite sometime now. Nothing but superlatives, except for the intermittent Error 61:00. I have high hopes for the A7RII but will hold out for the "live bulb" feature of the Olympus to be incorporated and hopefully a more comprehensive wireless shooting application.

A model with all the features and price ( much better if cheaper and better evf ) of A 6000 + IBIS ok na ko. I would not expect A7r2 to drop its price to a practical and reasonable level at least in the next 7 years.

The a6100 or a7000 with that features will be great.

...and add tilting touch screen. It looks like olympus is the one putting a lot of features in their body like no other. Pag na perfect nila yong AF tracking, the EM series will be a killer camera. They might be able to add a handheld multi shot sensor shift high resolution images also.....ha ha ha in our dreams. Those are my fanboy wish list I think. Now back to the original topic....then back to reality.

Caveat emptor sa mga potential Canon switchers

Dahil sa liit ng A7 series body, nakakangalay pag malaki yung lens nakakabit like the Batis 85 (tried one in B&H and compared to the 6D+85/1.8 I brought)

The A7r II is 625g and the Metabones MkIV adapter is 193g (not to mention 399$), the 6D is 770g and the 5Ds is 845g (body only)
