try mo sa mga digital hub stores, sila naman yung official distributor dito..

was able to try tekgik's unit last night, and I could say this is among my MUST HAVE's for 2013. I'm more than inclined to replace my X10 with this one..  :o

Hi guys help me decide what to get i used to own a lx3 before and i realy like it , then i upgradded to a microfour thirds , now i need to have a compact camera point and shoot im torn between rx100 and lx7

I've taken a long look at these two, since I was in the market for a compact of my own:

In terms of sheer IQ, the RX100 definitely wins, especially in poor light because of its larger sensor.

The LX7's FL is much more useful.  24mm-e is far far more flexible than 28mm-e.  While the LX7's lens also wins in brightness, the RX100's lens isn't that bad, it's still a useful f/2.8 at 36mm-e for example.

In terms of lens drawing quality, from what I've seen, I would give a very slight edge to the LX7.

The things I like about the LX7 (I'm a street shooter) - are the built-in ND filter, which will allow you to use the fast lens even in good light, the ability to use an external VF and perhaps more importantly for my purposes, an on-screen DOF scale (something missing on the RX100).

Handling-wise, it's the LX7 hands-down. The RX100 is one slippery camera, and really really needs an external grip like the Franciec ones. The LX7 has the aperture ring on the lens, and it's non-customizable, but I think it is more elegant since it offers click-stops.  The RX100's is fully customizable, you can assign pretty much anything you want to the ring, but it rotates freely, which I find less useful.

While it might sound that I far prefer that LX7 vs the RX100, that isn't really the case.  The RX100 has one thing really going for it - and that's the large sensor.  And it is actually pretty damn good especially considering how small the RX100 is.

In the end, I decided on the RX100.  My plan was actually to purchase both - the RX100 for more casual use, and the LX7 for street shooting, but I found the Ricoh GRDIV to be better for my purposes than the LX7.  ;D

I'm currently in the process of getting rid of my DSLR system and m43rds system, since I find interchangeable lens systems less and less useful for my purposes. My planned line-up is going to be: Ricoh GRD IV (for street shooting) ; Sony RX100 (when the larger sensor is needed - for low-light stuff, for vacations, family and barkada dinners etc..) ; Fuji X100 (for street shooting and for everything else where size isn't an issue) and I'm saving up for (possibly) a Sony RX1 next year.  ;D

So, after all that, I would say: For sheer IQ and lower light = RX100.  For everything else = LX7.

Cheers.

I bought the Rx100 yahoo!, but before purchasing it, i went to infomaxx to try the lx7 features and went to sony alpha store to compare, but RX100 satisfies my needs so i choose Rx100 no regrets on buying it

happy shooting everyone

Just got to drop by Henry's RX100price was still 27,000, if im not mistaken...

But then as for me, if i'm in a tight budget i would go for the LX7, i guess it would satisfy my demands for a compact camera, halos magka price na rin sila ng Fuji x10 today. But for image quality and build, the Sony RX100 still wins, mas malaki pa din sensor nya, but then you'll have to add extra bucks...

If you could wait for some more time, Sony RX100 na...but if you're not  that much demanding, LX7 is a very good option.

Pero hinihintay ko pa din yun compact ng Fuji XF-1 :D

I sold my LX5 already. After a satisfying year of upgrade from Panasonic ZS3, I found high ISO shots to be completely unsatisfactory and night shots were also poor unless my hands and the subject were super steady.

Looking forward to purchasing the RX100 and its supposedly superb high iso shots and larger sensor. can't wait.

I have the rx100 and I am very impressed with the picture quality especially in low light situations. The 20 mp allows you to crop and still get a sharp picture
