price difference
« on: August 26, 2012, 01:48:15 PM »
mga master just curious i wanted to buy a 70-200 2.8 OS for my nikon d90... i asked Mayers their price is P49,500 and i asked JT its P58,500 so i told myself the price difference is ang "laki laki laki" so my choice is mayers...

my main question is bakit po ang laki ng difference ng price kay mayers compare kay JT? any inputs will be appreciated

If there is a local warranty si Mayers thru JT then get the one from Mayer.Kung wala baka yon ang price difference.
JT units are locally warranted. I have not experience how JT is handling the Sigma warranties.Pero cleaning and calibration are free and I have no issues. Malfunctioning and lemon units, I don't know how they go about it. I only have one Sigma and that is the 150mm 2.8 bought from JT several years ago.
Is it worth to spend more for your local Sigma? Personally I think it is. In case your 70-200 needs a calibration, you can bring your camera and lenses in their shop and they will do it for free. The 70-200 is a fantastic lens when well calibrated.I am not sure how much they charge for calibrating, repair and cleaning of the non JT units.

Salamat sir.... If I will be buying a new one at Mayers is it already calibrated? I think it's 1 year warranty with them... I just need to ask them if the waranty is under jt or at their store and if it includes cleaning and calibration.

techbmnically i can say its not calibrated since you will need to test it first on your cam to see if it will have focus issues then thats the time you need to have it calibrated

or maybe will lock, but when you view the image, either where you focus the focus point is in back or front focus.
