I just like to know how much dust do you tolerate on your sensor?  do you clean it when you see 1 or 2 specks at the sides or do you wait till there's more ? Thanks

1 or 2 specks and di pa sya makapal, oks pa yun. Lalo na kung nasa mga dulo-dulo lang.

Mahirap kung makapal sya kahit isa lang sya. Yung bang naka f10 or f12 ka lang, lumilitaw na sya sa mga photos mo.

Speaking of sensor cleaning...

I visited Canon Makati last thursday to have my 350D sensor cleaned... I got there 2 mins before 5pm and I signed a job order and invoice but didn't have to pay a single cent becoz my camera was still under warranty.

It took them 30 mins to have my camera cleaned... but I think it wasnt cleaned at all... instead, there was a large noticeable dot in the upper portion of my lcd... every shot I took last friday... it was there... before I brought it to Canon... the dirt weren't as noticeable as it was after I had  it cleaned...

Anyway... maybe it was a human error... since it was free... I could always drop by the Canon Makati office to have it cleaned again...

Just sharing my experience.

:D

It can't still remove sticky gunks. Only the loose one. I worked on an E1 of a friend already. Dust came from the factory. :P

Because they don't do it like I do. They are just not meticulous, they don't check after each wipe.. that is if they ever wipe it at all.

What we do is after each wipe, we take an f/22 shot and if there is a dust, we do it again.

With this, I can say that I have zero tolerance in dust. And with the knowledge that it is tedious to clean a sensor, I practice some preventive measures like being quick when changing lens, etc.

Bakit ka matatakot?

All you have to be is sure that you know what you are doing.

The AA filter on top of the sensor is made of hard material. You can't scratch it easily if you are to take the steps religiously.

But on the other hand, the focusing screen is the most sensitive. I wouldn't even wipe it with Pec-pad. It is easily scratched.

Di po ba nakakatakot linisin yun sensor Master Kentamayo?
