D80 battery En-EL3 usage... :)
« on: December 30, 2006, 06:47:52 PM »
To those users of D80, how many shots with and w/o bulit-in flash shots  can you get with your unit using a single full charge EL-En3??

I;m just wondering if my batt is just the same as others with regards to shots taken per charge... Thanks...

the D200 takes about 300 shots for me
« Reply #3 on: December 31, 2006, 09:21:51 AM »
the D200 is even worse.  it takes about 300-400 shots (my normal use - shoot, review, shoot, play with menu, shoot with flash, review) which is quite disappointing compared to the longer lasting D70s (1000++ shots with the same shooting habits)

I have not use it from full charge to full drain yet cause need to recharge again ( even while theres 50% charge cause of full day trip)

What i notice i made only around 200+ shots at 50% na lang remaining battery nito... same with gigi with review on and some menu tinkering also and maybe 40% shoot with on board flash...

what about others?...

totoo kaya na may problem batteries as posted by doc?? sana naman Ok itong sakin....  ::)

ei chewy! :) do you use the biult-in flash of your D200 when shooting? that will really drain your battery. i shot a wedding yesterday with my D200(with SB800), i had two EN-EL3e on my battery pack and i got to shoot almost 1k shots on my first battery. i do the same shoot-review-menu habit. :)

i'm thinking it's because the batteries are new and in my experience with nikon batteries, it takes about 4 cycles before they get to stretch out. (d50, d70s, my dad's d70s)  so i'm hoping to get more from my batteries in a day or two :)

Popular Photograpy review on the D80 (nov 2006) indicates the D80 can shoot about 2600 shots on one charge. I am wondering why the discrepancy between what was tested and the actual usage based on what the others are saying. I have a 350D and the manual says about 400-600 shots per charge but I am hardly getting anywhere near that. Can anyone explain?

my d80 battery is okay, good for a whole day shoot,  but my gfs d200 battery is terrible...i guess this is normal for the d200.

My EN-EL3 battery on my D80 last only about 200+ shots on full charge. It's also not near the 500 - 600 + shots as indicated in the manual. I'm using 2 sets of batteries alternately and their both the same. I'm also wondering why it's like that. Is it really like that or maybe it will get better after a few times of drain & recharge?

I get 300~400 too on my oldest battery.

I only get 200~300 if I shoot a lot of long exposures which really sucks battery big time.

Factors in battery life
1. shooting with built-in flash (big factor)
2. shooting long exposures (also a big factor)
3. chimping :)

So far I have reached 400 with 30% still remaining. Medyo mababa nga if compared to the manual. But I think sa manual would be without flash, lcd off, etc. Straight shooting lang siguro.

Sobrang lakas nga pag built-in flash. Pero nung gumamit ako ng SB800, mas tumagal ang batt ko.
