Story of Kindness 4

I was deeply touched by the kindness of a couple with a child on board a red car who dare to stop in the middle of a deep ascending portion of the road just to ask me if I was alright  after seeing me having difficulty in maneuvering the hard climb. They offered me water and food but I told them I’m ok and just finished my lunch. I was told that it was their first time to traverse the road.  I saw fascination on their faces upon learning that it was my fifth day on the road. I was assured that I am nearing the boundary and it will be an easy ride towards Banaue. As I thanked them for the gesture, they wish me good luck and a safe ride.

one kilometer of zigzag and steep climb

at last here I am at Mt. Polis (Mt. Province-Ifugao boundary)but Banaue is 20 kilometers away!

Like what I have said before, my journey ends here but there will more.
To all those I’ve meet on the road: Jud Ron, Danny and Lalaine who offered me a shelter if ever I come back to Bontoc; to Manong Farmer who accompanied me for almost 3 kilometers while sharing me a lot of stories about his people, the Igorots; the brave couple in a red car who comforts me in the middle of nowhere; to the motorcycle-riding group who take time to hear my stories while we slowly traversing the road to Banaue  and  to the motorists who sounded their horns gently  while waving at me as gesture of admiration . Thank you very much. Your trust and kindness makes me more determined to continue my simple dream- Bike Touring.

Daan

First of all, sir Manlalakbay, the name truly fits you. Your story is an invaluable source of inspiration. Ang ganda, ang galing. Very unassuming but totally engrossing.

I, for one, was able to complete a Manila-Baguio bike ride before, but would want to continue. The north is always dear to me, especially ang Cordillera region. I'll definitely use your Halsema-Mountain Province chronicles as reference for my future ride. There's just one thing sir Manlalakbay... not sure if I'm the only having problems sa pag-load ng photos ninyo, but it seems they're posted in their original resolution and automatically re-sized to the forum's viewable size. The problem is it's taking too long to load due to the original file size, sometimes not at all, so I simply rely on your captions sans the visual. May I respectfully suggest you create an album of the same photos in Multiply or Flickr (or even Facebook), and kindly share the link. I really, really want to view all photos, but due to the loading issue, I must have missed half of it.

Thanks and more power sir. I hope to see you on the road someday. Bike safe, bike free! :)

As to your suggestion, yes, as of now I am trying to upload it in an another site (panoramio) para na rin mailagay ko sa google earth ang exact location nung mga images kasama na yung part 1(Manila-Baguio epic ride)
Maraming Salamat muli at sana magkita tayo at magkasama sa isang paglalakbay.
