after a couple of hours in the glaring heat of puraran beach we headed to the cooling waters of maribina falls (municipality of bato).

a long tiring 3rd day being capped off with a refreshing swim at maribina falls, a relatively good photo op, terrific food.  good light has been elusive so far...or so i thought!
with wet clothes and finding myself drifting in and out of sleep, suddenly someone shouted STOPPPPPP!!!!
running with gear in tow, this was the last photo of the day...

as a kid i used to draw this kind of scene the only thing missing was a bahay kubo. it would have been a perfect match to my old drawings. day 3 ended with a big smile on my face  :D

thanks chyll/idol bong.

continuing with day 4, on the way to doing the visita we stopped just across bato church to shoot at the river bank.  the summer heat was intensifying we were gradually feeling it.

batalay shrine is built over what is believed to be the site of the first cross of catanduanes over the grave of shipwrecked Fr. Diego De Herrera in 1576. located in bgy batalay, municipality of bato.

day 4 ended early for us. it was 3pm, time to rest and pack things up for the early morning roro ride back to legazpi city.  we did manage to take photos of the procession late afternoon friday.

day 5 found us settling at our hotel rooms at legazpi city taking it easy for lunch and pasalubong shopping.  later that day i met up with a fellow gbl alumni to take a shot at mayon for sunset separating from the main  group. last shot of the trip...

JGA_LGP_605 by jaguirre14, on Flickr
i only managed to compose one shot. then mayon was swamped with clouds. happy day  :D

there goes the catanduanes journey, 5 shooting days with 9 people enjoying what we love to do...taking photos, making new friends and plainly having a great time.  will i go back? definitely, i want a second shot at virac  :D

by 8am the next day we were all back in manila ready for monday's workload.
