wow. very nice shots indeed. im a fan of street photography.. i realy appreciate your photos.
sir, let me ask some questions.
do you use slr on street photography? if yes what mode do you use? Aperture P, Shutter P or manual?
do you always ask permission before you shoot your subjects?

honestly id love to do some street photography, but im a bit afraid baka mahablot ung cam. especially i wanna shoot the poverish side of the town, agaw atesyon kasi pag may nakasabit na malaking camera sa leeg mo.  :(

Thanks sly. :)
Answer to your questions:
Quote

I use my Sony H1, a prosumer digicam. I set it to shutter priority most of the times, or manual if I have the luxury of time to set the settings. I prefer to have faster shutter speed and just adjust the brightness in post processing.

do you always ask permission before you shoot your subjects?

Not always, just when I shoot close to the subject because they may, or will pose ,or sometimes move away from you. I use my cam's 12x optical zoom to capture my subject in their most natural mood and behavior.

For safety here's what I've learned:
-Smile and talk to your subjects if necessary
-Don't act like it's your first time in the area
-Practice shooting closer to home, this will build your confidence in shooting on the streets
-Before taking out your camera from the bag, observe your environment and take note of what good to shoot. Visualize.
-Better to have someone with you
-Dress down

tapos you frame your subjects using the red color of the bus...kung pwede lang bumoto dito tulad ng pbase...boboto ko image mo... ;D

@russelcp: I love the first pic...totally two different worlds in the same time in the same space...in one frame...(the happy child and the seemingly so troubled adult...)
