Long Island Iced Tea (my favorite cocktail)

Contrary to popular belief, Long Island Iced Tea doesn't contain any tea or iced tea in its ingredients. It's made up of 5 white spirits; vodka, white rhum, white tequila, gin, and cointreau or triple sec, topped off with cola on a high ball glass. This results in an "iced tea" colored drink, hence the name.
Long Island Iced tea has a much higher alcohol concentration (~28%) than most cocktails because of the proportionally small amount of mixer.

Long Island Iced Tea trivia:
It was claimed that this famous drink was created during Prohibition Era when bartenders were trying to disguise alcoholic drinks to avoid the law.

Long Island Iced Tea:
Glass:
Highball Glass
Ingredients:
1 part Vodka
1 part White rhum
1 part white tequila
1 part Gin
1 part Cointreau or Triple Sec

Add ice cubes, fill with coke, and stir. Garnish with a slice of lemon.

Drink, enjoy, and make sure you have a designated driver because this drink packs a punch. Hehe.

Hhhhmm... mukang okey to ah! try ko nga minsan.
BTW, what is Cointreau or Triple sec?   meron bang substitute kung wala to?
sorry for the ignorance, di kasi ko marunong mag mix ng mga drinks, basta adik lang ako sa alcohol. :)

Yung triple sec kahit saang grocery or liquor store meron. Parang mixer lang siya and mura lang, i think 200per bottle. I actually prefer to mix Long island with triple sec kaya lang mas maganda sa pictures yung bote ng cointraeu eh. hehe. Kung wala ka nun, pwede mo dagdagan ng 1 more part na rhum. Masarap pa din. Hehe.

Tools of the Trade

Also called a shot or shot glass, a jigger is a small drinking glass-shaped container that usually holds about 11⁄2 ounces, but can also be a 1- or 2-ounce size.
It's generally used to measure liquor. The term "jigger" is also used to describe the quantity of liquid such a measure holds, as in "a jigger of whiskey".

@SADIK_527
Yup, pwede kahit gold tequila and kahit gold rhum. You only need white para yung coke is maglighten pa to match the color ng iced tea. Pero gold or white, pag may amats na, pare pareho na rin yun, hehehe

@ferrarista44
nice shots! personal stash mo rin yan? hanap na ako ng goldschlagger to try this liquid cocaine. i'm curious. hehe

@crispyparty- yep, personal, pero i usually buy for occasions lang.. which almost always means walang natitira after. haha! but i dunno about this time, i heard liquid cocaine will mess up the average drinker in two shots. goldschlager sa buendia stores, around P900. malay mo baka ganung paraan mag-improve yun sense of creativity natin... mala-Van Gogh drinking absinthe. ;D

goldschlager is great neat, jager can be mixed with redbull (i do 1:1), 151.. well.. expensive rum coke. haha!

very interesting info.. TFS! looks like that bacardi 151 is really notorious.  ;D

searching the net i found this

"Another popular drink is a 252, which is Bacardi 151 and Wild Turkey 101 (151+101 = 252)."
 whew!

i've read that this is sometimes known as Gorilla Fart. ;D

Kung ganun kailangan ko ng camera armor. Baka malaglag ko yung cam ko. Haha!
Naka 10 shots ako ng 151 nung huling gimik ko.

BTW, may alam ba kayong nabibilhan ng Everclear? Check ko sa mga liquor shop. Hirap maghanap eh. Hirap din magorder galing US kasi illegal siya sa ibang states at bawal dalhin sa eroplano. 190 proof = 95% alcohol. It's the purest concentration of an alcoholic beverage. Ginagamit siya sa paglinis ng pipes at ginagamit ng mga mountaineers as fuel for backpacking stoves. Masmalakas pa siya sa denatured alcohol.

Ito naman try niyo  :o:
Vietnamese snake wine. Cobra and green tree snake (yung nasa bibig ng cobra) fermented in alcohol.
