rollei 35 was used by queen elizabeth...

Rollei produced the only 35mm camera with the flash shoe underneath.

thus resulting to something like this...

Did you know that the largest seller (in terms of number) of digital cameras is not a camera company? Not Canon, not Nikon, but NOKIA.

Did you know that …?

Contrary to rumors, the work Kodak was NOT in reference to the sound a camera’s shutter makes.

As George Eastman, founder of Kodak, explained: “The letter K had been a favorite with me… It became a question of trying out a great number of combinations of letters that made words starting and ending with K. The word Kodak is the result”.

Nikon started out making optical weapons instruments for the Japanese Imperial Navy in 1917.  It was only after WWII that Nikon ventured into cameras.  Nikon is actually an acronym that means Nippon Kogaku Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha.

Did you know that Nikon created its first camera in 1948? Before that, Nikon just supplied lenses for Canon cameras. But Canon had already started manufacturing its own lenses in 1945.
Lenses: Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM, Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM, Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM

Did you know that the first 35mm still camera was a Leica? In 1913, Oskar Barnack, who was in charge of research and development at Leitz, built the camera that used the same 35mm film commonly used in movies. Movies were recorded on 35mm film vertically with a 4:3 aspect ratio (24x18mm). But for the Leica still camera, Barnack oriented the film horizontally and used 2 standard film frames, which is why the aspect ratio became 3:2 (36x24mm).
Lenses: Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM, Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM, Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM

Did you know that ...

there is a photograph showing a starving Sudanese child with a vulture waiting to devour the weak child as soon as it is motionless, won Kevin Carter the 1994 Pulitzer Prize for feature photography.

And did you know that . . .

This photo was reproduced all over the world, touching many thousands of people, becoming an icon of African misery (cover of Life Magazine), winning a Pulitzer Prize, and, a year later, apparently contributing to Carter's own suicide.

For the canonites.
Do you know that for the past 10 years, Canon has always been in the top three list of companies who get the most number of US patents per year? The only other company to manage that is IBM which sits at the number one position. This is a testament to the R&D capabilities of Canon.

Did you know that... it is called Zed Card,Sed Card or Comp Card what is commonly misspelled as SET CARD. which is used by actors and models as marketing tool.
It's hard to beat a good photographer with the right camera.

That IS a common mistake. It's named after it's German inventor Sebastian Sed.

Comp Card is short for Composite card.

Canon produce the fastest lens with an effective aperture of f 0.95 in 1961. CANON 7, labeled as the monster had a 72 mm filter size.

...after 48 years leica will release their version of world's fastest aspherical lens

ok most of you probably know this pero for some :

did you know that you can have a 2-sec timer on your canon 350D/400D? simply turn on the mirror lock up function and set the drive mode to "self-timer". Upon pressing the shutter the mirror locks up-then waits another 2secs (instead of the usual 10secs) before the actually taking the shot. A nice feature when working on a tripod using long exposures. You get the benefit of minimizing camera shake due to pressing the shutter and vibration from the mirror slap. a good alternative if you don't have an ir remote or cable release.

not sure though if this is the same for other models

sir after all this time ngayon ko lang nalaman to.. hehehe.  :) isa ko sa "who may have missed it"
