It has no touch screen. Needs a grip to take advantage of 30 minute 4k video. It has a joystick though which i think very nice to use like in the xpro2 and d500. That 4k seems to suck a lot of juice from your battery. I hope there will be no heat issue . This cam i think remains to be a photo still shot centric one. i wont get excited with the 4k feature. The reduced price of xt1 is more exciting . If it wont happen the would be gassers will part with their xt1 at lowballed prices. Remember  if you are into 4k video you should add up the price of computer upgrade .The foremost is the GPU that cost around 18-20k.The af must be very good and formidable for me to pick this up over the xt1..my 2 cents opinion of unrelease product. That could change though..who knows?

The grip will add more battery power and you can shoot more. However it adds weight and size. I whll just carry lots of batteries in my pocket. Keeping it light and small is the essence why i buy mft and fuji as my travel camera but it just me...to each his own.

same here, adding grip to a mirrorless defeats the purpose and you might as well buy DSLR. The main reason I sold mine when I had it on sony is that when you have a zoom attached, the strap no longer hugs your body because the lens mount will be about 2" from each side, it is really not practical to hike and camera is swinging all over the place. Without the grip, the lens mount is very close to the edge and this side will be hanging against your body...

For me, size wasn't the primary reason for getting mirrorless, it was the EVF.  Second was weight, although you can argue that a smaller size leads to lighter weight.  Actually, I prefer having the grip on since I find it easier to hold on to the camera because I have big hands.  If not for the weight, I prefer the feel of a DSLR in my hands.  That EVF tho...

Anyway, looks like a good successor to the X-T1 - except for the lack of touch screen

x-t2 official price is 1599 usd for the body only, while the x-pro2 is at 1699 usd. so for 100 usd less, you get more autofocus points, 4k video, 3-way tilting lcd, bigger evf, dual uhs-II card slots and more grip options. ;)

Whether it is worth it at that price depends on who is talking and on someones need. Each one have a different point of view. I will be happy for the early adopters and BI us along the way....

I've seen the recent marketing materials and I noticed nobody is bragging about having the world's fasted AF anymore. At least the expectations are realistic this time. With that being said, I still don't think it will beat the Canon 7D Mark II or Nikon D500 in the AF speed and accuracy arena.  Of course, there are improvements and they're headed in the right direction.  But at this point in time, you're buying it primarily for its image quality output, specifically the color rendering, the way I see it for myself as a portrait photographer.  Slap a 35mm f/1.4, 56mm f/1.2 or the forthcoming 80mm f/2.8 macro up front and I'd be a happy camper.

I am curious about the new 23mm F2( reminiscence of the x100s that i used to have.). but since it will be quite sometime before the prices will stabilized, plenty of time to wait for the users review....not the paid ones but the would be gassers. This is a nice camera for sure but this is not a revolutionary one. I can still skip this one and wait for the X-T3. One thing I like about the Fuji are the lenses and they are getting many around. I will opt for the primes like the ones you've mentioned.

i'm interested in these smaller and weather-resistant lenses as well, particularly the 23mm and 50mm.. but i do wish that they'll have smaller and weather-resistant bodies too. perhaps an x-e3 wr or x-t20 wr?  ;D

tentative release dates of the upcoming wr prime lenses
« Reply #19 on: July 26, 2016, 08:07:51 AM »
from fujifilmxmagazine.eu's lastest issue, they cover the x-t2 and reveal the planned release dates (though probably still tentative) of the upcoming wr prime lenses:

23mm f2 - oct 2016
50mm f2 - spring 2017
80mm f2.8 - end of 2017

hopefully, the ph release will not be far behind. ;)

could be because of the hybrid OVF and Xpro kasi una flagship nila. they might not want to have the Xpro's line being lower than the XT series (just my observation)
