Hello Singapore-based Piphols!

I'm not the OP, but I would also like to make an inquiry and didn't want to duplicate a thread.

Last year, I was fortunate enough to take a family vacation to Singapore on dates that coincided with AFA 2013, allowing me to indulge in a bit of cosplay photography on top of sightseeing. This year, I am planning to go to Singapore specifically for AFA 2014 (Dec), and was wondering if there is a rule or law prohibiting the use of portable studio equipment inside the Suntec Convention Center lobby area where the cosplayers have their photos taken in public.

As a backgrounder: I am a heavy flash user, and I was able to do off-camera flash cosplay shots last year only because my brother attended the convention with me and held the flash close to the cosplayer. This year, I will be going alone, and since I saw someone using a flash-based softbox setup last year, I am wondering if it would be okay to bring a portable studio flash setup (RimeLite i4, specifically).

Would any of you know if this would be allowed at the Suntec Convention Center?

I know the popular tourist attractions have permit requirements, so I tried emailing Suntec through the address they provide on their website last Saturday, but I have not received a response.

Thanks in advance. :)
