thinking about it.

i really like the 6d. kaya lang nahihirapan ako taking pictures of my less than 2 year old super-active son. i need something with good tracking and more focus points. for everything else, the 6d rocks.

initially planned on a 5dmk3 since i already disposed my efs lenses (regret letting go of my 17-55 2.8 IS ) but with the current price of 7dmk2, napapaisip ako.

The 6D IS AN EXCELLENT CAMERA NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. I've been shooting with canon dslrs since 2006 starting with a 350d and have owned and used a 30d, 40d and 50d. The 6d is the best body i've used so far. Malayong malayo ang image quality ESPECIALLY ON LOW LIGHT AND HIGH ISO compared to the crop bodies i've used.

The only issue i have with it is the similar performance it has with the above cameras (i have not tried a 7d or 7dmk2 so i can't compare) when it comes to tracking fast moving subjects (ex. kids and pets).

Would i choose a 7dmk2 over my 6d? I wouldn't know because i haven't tried a 7dmk2 yet :)

I agree... At high ISOs, the 6D will give you cleaner usable images.  With the 7D Mark II, ISO 6400 is fine but I personally won't exceed ISO 1600 (ISO 3200 tops) for files I'm gonna give to clients but that's just me and a personal cap I set for myself.  Above ISO 1600, it means I'm gonna need to do something about the lighting to achieve the results I want for a specific shot.  But I also have this contention that with a crop sensor camera (and I understand some crop sensors perform better than others), you as the photographer could do something about the noise and loss of detail but there's nothing you can do about it when the limitation is equipment-related -- a missed shot is a missed shot.  It's gone forever.  And that's something I can't take a chance with especially when doing client shoots and it's the rationale I had when I decided to go for the 7D Mark II over the 6D when these two cameras are in the same ballpark price-wise.

Here's an image sample of a shot I did in a dimly-lit room. I did this shot in a hurry because I was kinda annoyed of the hotel employee who asked if we had a shoot permit, and of course, we did.  What's wrong with these guys so paranoid of people taking pictures?  If a terrorist plans to bomb the hotel, he'd be sneaking around and taking pictures stealthily -- not with a camera out in the open hanging around your neck like a tourist.

Ang resulta?  Ayan, sunog ang highlights ko.  :D

if only i didn't dispose all of my ef-s lenses for their FF counterparts (most especially my most-loved 17-55 2.8 IS), eto ang camera ko ngayon.

Yes, you're correct. Bale, there were 3 lightbulbs illuminating the pool table. Tinapat ko yung isa sa likuran n'ya tapos tinimpla ko na lang sa camera yung settings para sa effect na gusto ko. I wish I could have done better, nainis lang ako dun sa sumita kung may permit ba daw kami. Minadali ko yung shot at baka paalisin kami, so ayon.  :)
