Dpreview 7D mark II Frist Impressions

Canon EOS 7D Mark II key specifications:

20MP Dual-Pixel AF CMOS Sensor
10 fps continuous shooting with autofocus
65 all cross-type autofocus sensor
150,000 RGB pixel metering sensor
Dual Digic 6 processors
Enhanced environmental sealing
Compact Flash (UDMA) and SD (UHS-I) slots
USB 3.0
Built-in GPS
Larger-capacity LP-E6N battery
Shutter speeds up to 1/8000th seconds
Shutter rated to 200,000 cycles (vs 150,000 on 7D)

Very niche camera I must say, especially with the current US Price of the 6D only a 100$ more than the 7D Mark II's US MSRP of 1799$
10fps and all 65 cross type points AF is impressive for an action camera though

Mas gusto nila yong CF card...mas mabilis daw. Yong lang pagdikamaingat at di maganda ang design ng CF box ng camera...nayuyupi ang mga paa. Pero Canon naman, usually maganda sya.Palagay ko yan na nga ang hinahanap mo Mel...spot metering anywhere!!!

7D Mark III will be announced September 2019 before Photokina 2019. Bodies will ship November 2019.

5D Mark IV will be announced March 2015 or later. Bodies will ship weeks later.

Disappointments with the 7D Mark II:
- No WiFi (May be a reason why there's a SD slot for EyeFi)
- No 4K resolution video
- No CFast memory card slot for faster than UDMA7 reads/writes of 167MB/s.

Nice to see a real Canon user butting in. We are just "babying" this thread until they will come along...kaso lang hindi yata sila excited. I think for the would be canon users including the shifters and first timers this is one great camera sans the articulating touch  screen , wifi, 4k video and high speed CF. What do you think?

Shift na Bryan.... ;D ;D ;D....pero try sniffing around the rumor mill. The release of the 7D2 might be an indication that the d300s replacement is coming. If Nikon will not release anything then chances are it is due to economic situation. They may have surrendered the high end APS-C segement to Canon. The market is shrinking and a lot are shifting hobbies and leaving photography. The smartphones can provide their photo requirement which IMHO is well integrated with the social networking. The ones that need the professional APS-C are the wildlife and sports photographer and maybe some segment that I am not aware of.
The lost of low end market for camera makers will affect their R@D and hence they will be forced to streamline their products. Nikon is a small company compared to Canon. That is just my speculation and I could be wrong.

Hehe! Im not into Canon doc :D while they have good bodies and lenses, I dont see myself owning one, just a preference. I prefer Nikons and Pentax'. Sana nga this would fuel Nikon to release a D400 sooner.
