Places of Worship
« on: September 02, 2012, 04:39:21 PM »
The Philippines abound with places of worship - cathedrals, churches, chapels, mosques and others which are always full during services.  Not so in many other places of worship abroad.  I will start this series with two churches in Assissi, Italy: the Basilica of San Francesco d'Assissi on a hill with its upper church and lower church where the remains of St. Francis is buried.  Below the hills is the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli with the small chapel, the Porziuncola, where St. Francis used to say Mass.

The Basilica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) in Barcelona, Spain which was designed by Gaudi and continues to be under construction.  From the outside and the ceiling inside the main part of the church.
