Title: Copyright issues with Art Musuem Photos
Post by: leaj23 on June 05, 2006, 01:25:23 PM
Hi.

Thanks to the guys here who gave their wise travel advice, I decided to bring my 50 mm f1.8 to Chicago and was able to take photos inside the Art Musuem without flash.  :)

My question is, since I took photos of paintings (Van Gogh, etc.) in the Art Musuem, can I post these images in flickr.com? Or, by posting the photos online, am I violating the provision of using these images for personal enjoyment?  ???

Actually, this question pertains to all images (buildings, random people) I took while traveling in America in May. Can I post the pics online?

I want to share to this forum the photos I took... But then, I'm unsure about copyright issues, especially those of paintings taken inside the Art Musuem.

Another thing, do you guys recommend I watermark my images to brand it as mine? In case some wise person decides to grab the images? Your horror stories are welcome.  :)

TIA guys!
