Title: Sign of Spring!
Post by: edsel on September 02, 2007, 06:27:37 AM
Here's the sign of spring from Downunder, taken yesterday at the Centennial Park. This dragonfly is smaller than usual, probably an asian breed. ;D

cheers

Beautiful macros Edsel! Macro King talaga!

Question lang bro, what do you mean by stack of 5 or 6 images? Different images with different focus points ba yun? Or different exposure?

yup that's what I thought. Did you use a focusing rail para consistent yung DOF or handheld yan?

Thanks Judell and Raffy!

Anthony: Focusing rail helps to position the camera on the exact mag rate you want. Once you've got that, adjust the focus points for each shots by the lens barrel (on MF), not through the focusing rails (secret yan, atin-atin lang ha :D). If you saw the subject moves or your gear moves during the process, restart all over as that will likely fail when you do the image stack.

Just for your info, you may search for ComineZM (freeware) or Helicon Focus and Im, of course, using the freeware.  ;D

Oo nga no, pwede pala MF instead of moving rails.  :)  Naka flash ka or ambient?

So if that was your procedure, how did you make that dragonfly behave like that? It didn't move the whole time? Parang si Ricky (arbil) when he does his macro, all the insects stop and pose for him.  :D

bk nakadikit yung paa  j/k ;D. I'm amazed on the clarity of the images... Yung tipong frontview naman na parang lalapang... para monsterous yung arrive.. cheers!
