Tried taking shots of RC cars in action. :) :)

Galing. The first shot is a truggy.  Buggy converted to a monster truck.
Trulu off-road, may putik pa sa track. Nice panning shots!

'Competative' is relative to your disposable income.

I used to set aside 7k a month for my RC addiction whether it be the flying ones or is land based.

And that doesn't include the hop-ups and parts that break in the course of using them.

RC is in constant evolution so the model you are using now is supplanted by newer ones within a year or two.

I will probably return to RC again when it reaches a point where battery technology can out perform internal combustion model engines. It's quieter, cleaner and has less recurring expenses.

Dave, I doubt that. your also addicted to the sound and smell of nitro. ;D ;D ;D

quixilver, wag mo na pasukan yan, parang photography din gastos dyan, even more.  If you are racing competitively, tires alone will cost you 5-10k a month.  And before you even get to a level where you can race competitively, you will be spending 100k plus on gears and lots of practice hours to get to that skill level. Ask dave, he knows. ;) ;)

i'm just entertaining that thought pero wala pa rin datung for it. i just love that adrenaline rush of racing cars kahit RC. might try karting na lang. sana kasya ako ;D:D hay! i'll stick to cycling & picture taking na lang :)

@gpx4

I have completely cured myself of nitro addiction ha ha ha.

@quix

I'm not ashamed to say it but over the course of 5 years I probably spent a cool million and when I sold it all, only recouped 25% of the equipment cost.

If I had the opportunity to go back and redo it all, I still would have done it because it was fun and addictive and the friendships gained along the way is invaluable.

I still have some leftover stuff but I plan to keep it... baka naman sail boats ang next so it can co-exist with photography.

Dont know more about RCs but unknowingly when i went back to QC circle last sunday i was able to shoot RCs... although di nila natapos ang race dahil umulan... they told me they might resume the race on July 9.

umuulan na talaga when i took this shot... nasa ilalim lang ako ng tree at halos mabasa na digital camera ko...

Nice capture! Fight pa ren kahit umuulan ah :)

OT : hindi ba nasisira ang mga RC na yan sa ulan? Saka ang DSLR diba nasisira yun sa ulan?

I never imagined na mahal/magastos pala ang RC hobby... more expensive than photography?!

Thank you Sir!

For those who want to shoot similar race... they told me this coming Sunday (June 9) merong race sa QC Circle.  Normally mga 1pm ako kung pumunta don pero may nagsasabi na umaga pa lang start na sila.
