Good day guys, allow me to share with you the images i took while on a solo bike touring adventure from Manila to Baguio City covering 257 kilometers from my doorstep that lasted for four days and three nights on April 5 to 8, 2012.

In Western countries they called it self-contained touring-meaning you have to carry all necessary gears in order to survive while on the road. I'm not new on this for I've done this a couple of times but for a short duration. In this particular journey I brought with me the following: (CAMPING EQUIPMENT-2-man tent, plastic tarp) BIKING GEAR-Helmet, Gloves, Bandana, Bush Hat, Reflective Vest & lights. TOOLS- basic bike tools, 2ea. extra inner tube, cold patch) HYDRATION-3each 1L. bottle container, 1ea. 2L. hydration bladder CLOTHING-1, ea polyester cargo pants,1ea long sleeve trekking polo, 1, ea trekking polo short sleeve, 2ea. dry-fit t-shirts, 2ea. trekking shorts, 3ea undergarments. DIGITAL EQUIPMENT- Dual sim mobile phone, Digital Compact camera (Panasonic LX5) 1ea extra battery, 2ea. memory cards (8 & 4GB) MEDICAL KIT-Antiseptic, Antimotility paracetamol, sanitary balm, Ibuprofen. As to the foods, i will rely on the availability of it on the road to lessen the weight of my panniers.

In this particular adventure, I am drawing inspiration from Dervla Murphy, an Irish touring cyclist and travel writer who said "The hardships and poverty of my youth had been a good apprenticeship for this form of travel. I had been brought up to understand that material possessions and physical comfort should never be confused with success, achievement and security"]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dervla_Murphy

Let me borrow the proverbial "journey of a thousand miles begins...in my case, with a single PEDAL STROKE.
lastly, please bear with the quality of my photos for I am not a professional photog and i am only using a digital compact.

In Guiguinto, Bulacan i was greeted by this one-arm Mt. Biker in company with his group, Bagbaguin Cycling Group.
"mukhang malayo lakad mo" i simply nod and smile and immediately request him for a photo op.
I've seen him a couple of times in in different cycling activities in Manila. The Last time i attempted to photographed him was in November. I was using a DSLR then and we are both cycling fast so what i got is blurred photo.
For me, He is deserves not only to be photographed but to be admired!
