Is Canon 7D from DBGadgets made in Japan?

Hi,

I might buy a Canon 7D from dbgadgets (since their price is the cheapest), just wanted to know if somebody here already bought one? Is it made in Japan or China or somewhere else? How's the quality of the unit?

AFAIK, all canon dslr units are made in Japan. Even entry level dslrs are Japan made....and probably most canon point and shoot units too.

nope. meron mga rebel/xxxD models na made in taiwan.  nakakita na ako ng 550D and 1100d

Thanks for the answers. I'm just so confused, I know there's a different in price between the authorized and the grey sellers but I'm really surprised at the price discrepancy.

pricing posted in Canon website is suggested retail price (SRP). You can get the same unit at lower price from authorized reseller (e.g. dponline). With 3 years Canon Warranty. Still relatively expensive compared to grey units. The premium price is for the extended warranty on parts and labor. Grey units only comes with 1 year service warranty from the grey vendor.

the 89,950 is the "CMPI SRP" yan yung gamit nila sa installment plans para masabing 0% interest. but if you do to stores like henry's nasa 72-75k kapag cash

regardless where it was made... I think the factory would still assemble their dslrs' according to their standards... similar to my old CPU some years back. intel pentium 4 3.0ghz  made in the philippines

I think the TS's issue lang about this topic is his hesitation baka mas poor quality yung binebenta sa dbgadgets compared sa binebenta mismo ng Canon.

The answer is no. Its the same thing.

The difference lang is the 3 years complete warranty from Canon pag sa Canon ka bumili. As in dadalhin mo lang yung sira mong camera/lens or whatsoever sa Canon then they will repair/replace the unit or the part broken tapos wala kang babayaran kahit magkano. All you have to do is wait syempre as long as covered ng warranty yung defect ng unit mo.

Sa mga online stores naman or mga sellers, when they say Service Warranty, they wont charge you sa LABOR na gagawin sa pagrepair ng gamit mo, they will charge you lang kung anong PART yung nasira. so kung shutter kunwari nasira, you have to pay for the amount of the PART replaced.

Tsaka nga sabi nila, pag Canon, mas premium yung freebies, aside sa mga memory card, meron minsan crumpler bag, crumpler strap, magazine, tumbler, etc.

@tackypinili, this is the answer I'm looking for thanks :-). I've confirmed that their 7Ds are also made in Japan. So I'm quite confident na with their products, might get 1 this coming month.

I got my 7D from DBGadgets and so far, I don't encounter any issues. Even if I sacrificed warranty and some freebies, as long as you take good care of your 7D, it will go a long long way.

Canon phil with 3yrs warranty ok sya kung may factory fault, pero pag nalaglag mo, di mo magagamit 3yrs warranty. Parang yung kakilala ko, nahulog sa dagat yung cam, dirin nila e honor yung warranty.

nakalgay naman yun sa notes na binigay ng canon about sa warranty eh. mga normal lang na sira yung honored doon/ kase warranty siya hindi naman insurance, kasalanan na yun nung nalaglag, hindi naman ng canon

sa experience ko dinala ko yugn camera for cleaning. then biglang sabi kelangan daw palitan yung main board. kung hindi naka warranty yun magbabayad ako ng 15k++
