Hobbyist switching from Cropped DSLR to Micro 4/3s

I'm a hobbyist planning to switch from dslr to micro 4/3s. My current gears line up are Canon 450D with 18-55mm kitlens (more than 2years old na siya) Nissin di622 mark I, EF 50mm 1.8 and manual macro tubes...

I'm planning to get Lumix GF2 (dual lens kit) or Olympus EP2 (14mm kit) or something else??

What do you think po?

Reason for switching is di ko na ako gaano nakaka-pagshoot because of work, di ko na rin gaanong naalagaan mga gears ko and sometimes feeling ko dahil lagi akong on-the-go, tinatamad na akong magbibit ng bag, rason tuloy para ma-miss ang magagandang photo-ops along the way.. I'm into photowalks, macros and landscapes.

What micro 4/3s will you suggest under 30k php budget?

An E-PL1 and an M. Zuiko 45mm F1.8

M4/3 shines' with its' fast primes offering great value for money (comparable performance resolution wise to Premium prime lenses used on APS-C bodies) and of course the size and weight advantage. Using a big flash on top of your cam feels odd IMO, though you could use wireless flash triggers and just hand hold your flash gun I find it a much more worthwhile experience to use fast primes for low light situations.

One thing you have to think about is whether you can shoot without a viewfinder. I thought I could, and since I needed a compact cam, I ended up with the E-P2. Ended up buying the viewfinder later. Could have just picked up a G10 with the 14-45. Not compact, sure, but when I pull it out I don't have to fumble for a viewfinder from my belt that I'm always scared of dropping and just made me bring around a slightly bigger bag anyway.

Interchangable po yung lens ng g10? How's ep2 for landscape?

Yes it is, it's a micro4/3 - that's the SLR-style body from Panasonic. The G3 is the current model and it's a completely different body from the G1/G2/G10/G11(?) (Different market codes, but basically the same two cameras.)

As for landscape, I think the lens matters more, given all m4/3 have the same crop factor. My 17/2.8 does well enough IF you stop down to f8 or f11. Otherwise, far objects will be far from acceptable when you zoom in at 3x or higher. If it's just for online posting though f4.0 is already good. I've tried the GH1+7-14mm and E-PL1+9-18mm and I have to say the Lumix lens is noticeably sharper, and for the price of the 9-18 I'd rather give up the extra 3mm and get the faster 12mm prime. Although I'm not much for landscapes so take it for what it's worth.

If you want a M43 now, the GX1 is the best one out there. It's the best compromise between portability and function. If compactness isn't too important to you, then get the G3.

However, if you can wait a bit more, then I would suggest the EM5 from Olympus, which will directly compete with the G3.

If given the chance, though, I would really love my MILC to be the Fuji X-Pro 1, but it's so freaking expensive :-(
