I noticed that too.  The newer version has a PC Sync cable port.  But what kind of cable will be compatible with it?

Purchased the CDR King TT520 and put it to the test, using it in tandem with my YN467.

Photos originally posted here: http://custompinoyrides.com/2011/10/atoy-llaves-daily-driver-r34-nissan-skyline-by-atoy-customs/

Camera Right: YN467 Flash via Radio Trigger

My observations:
1. The TT520 is more powerful than the YN467, hence why I used it to light the broad side of the car.
2. The color temperatures are different. It seems the YN467 is a tinge warmer than the TT520, even if they have the same declared color temperature ratings.
3. Under bright ambient light, the TT520's optical slave function does not work. Well, same with the YN467.
4. TT520 remembers the last setting you left it at when you turn it off and turn it back on again. Not so with the YN467.
5. TT520's flash foot is plastic, as compared to the YN467 which has a metal foot. So I'm a bit more careful with the TT520.

I've had about 200 or so frames with it already and I'm happy with the TT520. I just don't fire it at full power hoping to extend its useful life. I will probably purchase another one as my 3rd strobe, using the two TT520's as my main and fill, and will just use the YN467 as a hair light hahaha!

Thanks for this, Robbie. I suppose the TT520 will work with any trigger/receiver, but what trigger/receiver did you use?

I'm tempted to buy one of this, I've seen reviews and good feedbacks with this flash used off-cam, ok din kaya sya kung mounted sa camera? Baka in the long run, masira ang camera at lalo tayo mapamahal?

anyone using this with Canon 500D?

Please note that this is a manual flash which you need the output power manually when you put in on your camera. It's not a plug and play thing like the Canon or the dedicated flashes.
