have you seen the prototype of the canon mirorless cam too? that looks promising as well. hay, honestly nowadays, some people nga venture or buy SLR for the porma factor.. feeling nila mas maporma pag SLR ang dala dala.. but as for some of us, if we can get the same IQ naman, then better get the smaller cameras :)

Mga good points sa inyong lahat guys, but I would just like to mention that the supposed "Canon Mirrorless cam prototype" isn't real. It was created by someone not related to Canon in 3D as some sort of fantasy cam. If you check his fantasy specs, it says its a full frame EF mount with a new 50mm f1.0 lens. That's up there with unicorns and smurfs if you ask anybody.

If Canon releases something even similar to having a ILC with FF and an f1.0 lens then their entire SLR lineup dies overnight.

I'm one of those people who are "on the fence." Recently, my right hand hurts a lot. Even just pushing some things hurts. One time, my entire right shoulder ached for a day after shooting with a D700 with grip and a 24-70. I really like the EM-5 especially the fast primes you can use with it. Imagine shooting indoors wide open and still get a wide DOF instead of just getting one eye in focus when using an equivalent lens on FX.

100% correcteMUNDO, my PIPHO friend!!! more moolah for meeting slim sexy chinita tisay babes like this :) hehehe

My advise,  Get a small and great MFT (or Fuji X10 :D) and start practicing your pickup lines or "da moobs"...

eto sampol... look for a pretty young and sexy slim tisay chinita
You : "...ah miss... pwede ba pa picture tayo together?"
ChickaBaBes: "ha? bakit?"
You : "... ah wala, baka lang MA DEVELOP tayo..." sabay eye contact and kindat  ;D
--- works all the time  :D :D :D

Haha damoves talaga :) but yours was a huge leap ah coming from a d700, you opted to get an x10. Ang laki ng difference sa weight and handling...

I was just trying out an nex7 a while ago dito sa MOA. Nakakatuwa pala talaga tong mga ganitong cam :) kakaiba yung viewfinder hehe saka gamda din ng ISO :)

This won't be the last time I supposed  ;D ;D ;D ;D. I won't do the d7000 on the EM-5....I mean I won't ride the BI fever. Let them all rush and get the EM-5 to their heart's content. If it is indeed can replace the DSLR I can still wait for 6 months or more. I have to admit that the d7K is really a very good camera until now for my needs. However, the mFT are getting so good that you can't ignore it anymore. BTW, I was able to test the Nikon 1 J1 in the field today for a very short time. It is not so bad, in fact it is good.It is a different story for measurebators though but for a mere mortals like me, I am not that hard to be pleased.
The NEx7 is a very good camera that are underutilized due to lack of lenses. If I will get it, I will be happy to have the Sony Zeiss 24 with it. Kaso lang medyo mahal din at hindi available ka agad.

Yep I saw the Canon mockups recently and they look like the OMD hehehe :D But what I was referring to was this: http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/21/canon-ILC-mirrorless-camera/ some sort of a new mirrorless lens design patent supposedly for a canon mirroless with an APC sensor (similar to the NEX).

As for the OMD someone is already pre selling the black unit + kit in the seller section. IIRC another official Olympus seller whom I bought a flash from recently said that only black units will arrive this April and the silver-black one will arrive around May or June. Yun yung target ko talaga the silver-black model and since wala pang official announcement di pa ako nacocompel bumili. Also mas maganda magwait out until mag stable yung supply to get the camera at a lower price, this and have the others guinea pig it out if it is indeed a worthy upgrade.

For the meantime since hobbyist lang ako I think the m4/3 really suit me both in the total weight and performance it can deliver. Basta meron kang matinong lens and good lighting, these cameras really can perform and by practice naman di ko ugali mag ISO 800-1600 (even when I was using D7K) so no problem kahit hindi low light performer.

Yung mga napansin kong mga short comings (at least from the EP-3), going from APC, are only two in general 1) focus hunts on very dim almost no light situation and 2) the noise at high ISO. Both of which can be remedied using a flash, using fast lenses, or the upcoming improvement in sensors (3rd gen from Pana and the OMD). Aside from those, which are now addressed every thing seems the same but with less weight. All for the better ika nga.

Another good thing about m4/3 is medyo established na yung lens line up niya add that to the interchangeability of the Oly and Pana systems, multiple adaptor mounts for differents system mounts, almost full feature (with AF) with fourthirds format (better glass and line up), and the recent planned entry of third party lenses like Sigma, Tamron, Tokina makes it a very flexible system.

Again these may or may not help pero these are the personal views coming from a person who just made the switch. ;D The portability, size and weight are really huge factors for me. Tama yung mga sinabi earlier na its better to have a very capable camera anytime than a huge and heavy one that stays at home most of the time. Iba nga kung work related when supreme quality can't be compromised but for everything else these are very capable alternatives or even mains :D

Actually the 45mm is an excellent lens with a good enough price. It is not that long and is just right. Yung 75mm parang ang haba na masyado (baka sanayan lang) hehe pero monster isolation siguro yun. Yun lang baka monster din yung price. Plus palabas pa lang din siya mga around third quarter siguro this year so you'd have to wait a bit longer.

So it won't be hard for us. What are the lenses that mFT users will recommend regardless of brands? Primes and zooms. We will appreciate it very much. The mFTs have been with us for quite sometime. That way we won't be buying, trying and selling. I know each of us have the different style pero there are those lenses that you people have tested already. Like the way we say in Nikon, get the trinity:14-14-70-200  ;D ;D Tipong ganon!!! Thanks a lot!!
