I am getting a second hand Tammy 28-75 tomorrow for around 9K. Base on the reviews and sample shots, I think this is a good buy for me :)

Thank you sir, I'll post some sample pics when I get it :)  According to the seller, it is in very good condition, no mold/scratch or any focusing issue. Little dust that cant almost be seen by the naked eye.  Thorough inspection na lang ako mamaya... magdadala na rin ako ng batteries for front/back focus check hehehe.

A little bit soft sa 2.8 to my liking but considering the price and pictures produced at other f-stops the Tamron looks good!

sorry for reviving this post. but i am planning in getting a fast and bang for the buck lens.

im confused between the Tammy 17-50 and 28-75. which would you recommend?
i am planning in going to wedding photography and i'm more into portrait shots.

i own a nikon d5000 and the nikkor 35mm f1.8 lens.
don't want to sell this lens because it is a keeper.

Portraits? I suggest 28-75
If you need wider FL, then 17-50

If you are getting a ultra wide angle lens, choose 28-75 to pair with a 12-24

For events, i used my Tamron 28-75 as the range is ideal. 17-50 is too limiting. I don't have experience with the Sigma or the Tokina.

just to make it clear about sa pagiisip ko hehe

and i believe 70-300 is built to match the OEM canon 75-300mm (but still di naman ako nasatisfied kaya binenta ko, sakto kaka-1month pa lang sakin din nagkita kami nung buyer hehehe.

2nd: sigma 70-200 f2.8 vs canon 70-200f4L
reviews says mas sharp ang canon, though i think its built to match the 70-200f2.8L pero f4 pa lang medyo sabit na si sigma

3rd is the question?? ??? ??? ??? will 24-70f2.8 be a perfect alternative vs the expensive canon 24-70 f2.8?

jan ako nadududa. may ups and downs din kasi sigma para sakin hehehe

please share some sample pic of all users of either tamron or sigma and ofcourse the L ;D

Interesado rin ako noon sa Sigma 24-70 kasi nga counterpart ito ng Canon L on that range. Nung nagsearch ako sa net regarding sa review at first hand experience sa lens na ito.. nadiscourage ako dahil mas marami ang negative comments dito kesa sa positive comments. One thing for sure, very soft daw ito when full open meaning f2.8, hindi raw usable. When I was given the chance to use it, they were right.

:-)
