"after beach shoot" care
« on: April 12, 2010, 12:52:37 PM »
hope this is a timely question since summer naman

is there any special precaution one has to take after shooting in the beach?

di naman siya nabasa/and wala rin naman sand but am just wondering whether exposure to salty air and other elements has any harsh effect on gear, like corrosion...and if so, any way to minimize this

I agree.

just clean the lens using a brush/blower and a lenspen for the final touch before storing it. For the body, clean with fiber cloth and use blower to remove unnecessary dust/sand.

1. Wipe body, lenses, use brush to remove sand from nooks and crannies.
2. Wipe filters/front element, lcd screen to rid traces of salt spray.
3. Use blower on the mirror while upside down to remove any sand swept inside by the wind when changing lenses.
4. Clean sensor for next day's shooting.
5. Clean camera bag , turn up-side down to remove sand/dust/.
6. Charge batteries. :)
