Good lens for indoor with good range at 15k budget
« on: March 31, 2010, 01:40:57 PM »
Guys, what lens can you recommend that would work well indoors, good in low light, and with a good focal range at a budget of 15k? Kahit used is fine.

TIA

I have a 50mm 1.8 and while I do love it, my problem is range. I'm looking for one that has a pretty good focal range and is good indoors or in low light.

Tamron 17-50 2.8 around 15k used
Nikkor 35 1.8 11.5k new
Nikkor 28mm 2.8 afd 14k new @ cdsc. 28mm is more of a normal lens than 35mm, mejo zoomed in p dn kasi ang 35.
Nikkor 28mm 2.8 Ais 24k abroad, 30k local @ cdsc New. Manual but one of the best lenses Nikon ever produced!
Nikkor 24, 28, 35, etc 1.4, 1.8, 2.0, 2.8, etc Ai or Ais full manual older lenses price ranges from 3k to 20k hunting ka lng online tpc or sa hidalgo i got a pre ai 2.8 lens @ 3k lng though compatible lng ang pre ai sa d40, d60, d3000, d5000, pag sa d80 up may tatamaan, dapat ais up.
Nikkor 50mm 1.8 6k new. Zoomed in sa cropped sensors tlga.

Tamron 17-50, no regrets, gamit na gamit ko, ganda ng quality ng images and very useful talagang walk about.
Nikkor 35 1.8, useful din lalu na pag super lowlight ex. Ocean park kasi 1.8 and mejo nakaka kilos pero zoomed p dn ng konte compared to 28mm pero better room naman
kesa 50mm.
Nikkor 28mm 2.8 afd, pwedeng walk about talaga, di syado zoomed in or out sakto lang.
Nikkor 28mm 2.8 ais, hanep ang performance, super sharp, contrast etc and bukod sa
walk about pede din pang portrait because of close range correction di distorted kahit lapit ka subject and super close ang minimum focusing distance mala macro na. One of my favorite lenses.
50mm 1.8, da best pang artistic shots, hanep bokeh tlga and sharp, napagtyagaan pang lowlight indoor nung eto plng lowlight lens ko. Very versatile kinabitan ko raynox dcr250 macro lens na and superb ang output sharp na sharp p dn!
Swertihan 1.4, 1.8, 2.0, 2.8 ai ais lenses sa tpc and hidalgo, sulit na sulit imagine 3k up may panglowlight ka na, tyaga lang sa focus and estimate aperture, shutterspeed and iso.
Hth :)

Oh. Sorry. Forgot to mention that I'm a Canon user. :)

How about a sigma 24-70mm f2.8 or 28-70mm 2.8. That any good? or is the pic quality of the 17-50mm f2.8 better?

I would go for the 17-55 since it is more versatile lens indoor rather than a 24-70 or 28-70

di kasi tumitingin sa gilid... ayun nakalagay oh 40d...hehe senxa na po ha.  :D

imho po kung may option to go 17mm ang widest better choose that, it could be useful at times lalu na kung too small yung space, group pics or kung need ng mejo wide pang landscape pwede na. You wouldn't go wrong with the tamron 17-50 2.8, pili lang kayo ng sharp copy.

u can buy a sigma 30mm f/1.4. It's perfect for indoors even with low light. To make it even better use an ext flash as well. Other lenses will work as well as long as it's having a wide aperture like 1.4, 1.8, 2, 2.8. U can try sigma 18-50 f/2.8 as well but it's most suited with product shots.

+1 on the 35mm. I've had mine for over a month now, and I can't get enough of it!

Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM for low light is the best! :-) kaya lang lampas sa budget na 15k! how about instead of a lens, get an external flash sir.. yun papasok sa budget.

I already have an external flash. But I want a sharper lens that has a good focal range and fast response time. :)

Since I want a lens with a good focal range, maybe primes aren't exactly what I had in mind.

Since you already have a 50mm 1.8, bakit di mu pa samahan ng 85mm f1.8? Isang mahaba, isang maiksi!
