ano po magandang/worth it na bilhin among the 6? : (kahit po 2 suggestions)
- AF-S VR Nikkor 70-300 f/4.5-5.6G
- AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G
- AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G
- AF-S DX Nikkor 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR
- AF-S Nikkor 85,, f/1.8G
- AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G

btw, kung sakali po it will be the first time for me to buy a lense  :)

It depends on what you have now and what you need (focal length, low light, bokeh, etc.)

kit lense lang po kasi ang meron ako ngayon.....i own a D5100 po...
pinagpipilian ko po kasi kung prime lense or zoom lense..aun po

I suggest you get yourself the 50mm 1.4G and use at as an everyday lens.  That way, you'll learn the art of composition and framing.  Need to go wide?  Take a few steps bake.  Need to go long.  Take a few steps closer.  From there,  you'll find out what zoom lens you need to get in the future.  If you like getting wide or group shots and landscapes, then the wide angle zoom would be your next investment.  You like portraits, close-ups, sniper shots?  Then the telephoto zoom is your next project.

HTH.

PS.  Why the 50mm instead of the 35mm?  Because the 50mm is already a full-frame lens, if you plan to go the FX path.

The 70-300mm VR.  Has better build quality, plus it's also an FX lens.

nag eexplore ka palang? you have the kit lens..

want to try the 50 or 35mm? set your zoom to 50 or 35 and never touch it, ma practice mo to na parang naka prime ka.
prime is about discipline.

also you have d5100, so you have good iso handling and low light capabilities. wag matakot sa ISO :D

choosing between 55-300 vs 70-300? it doesnt matter if 55-300 is a DX lens, because if you go full frame. i doubt you will use a 70-300 f/4.5-5.6G because by that time, i bet you can afford the premium 70-200 f2.8 or even a third party fixed aperture lens

Hi everyone! I just want to ask what's the difference of Canon 50mm 1.4 and Canon 50mm 1.8? There's a huge difference kasi sa prices nila. Worth it ba yung 50mm 1.4 for its price? Ano mas ok sa dalawa? Thanks in advance!:)

Better bokeh on the 50mm 1.4. Here's a shot of a Concept One wheel on a Hyundai Sonata for Powerwheels magazine.

newbie and wondering what lenses i should buy for my canon eos 550d.

Medyo nahihilig po ako sa portrait, pero most of the activity na inaattenand ko kasama ko mga kaibigan ko is indoor events at iniisip kong bumili ng lens na pwede magamit for indoor events.

Meron na po akong 50mm f/1.8, 18-55mm (included sa binili kong cnon eos 550d) and sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 ex dc hsm.

@arondee16, why should a prime lens (fixed focal length) be hard to use? :)

Groups shots - pwede na ung 18-55mm lens mo. Bili ka na lang ng external flash. Either that or Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 Non-VC.
Mga fashion show etc - 70-200mm f2.8 lens / 85mm f2.8 lens / 100mm f2.8 lens

No need for VR/ IS for the primes.  At f/1.4 or f/1.8, primes are fast lenses.  The slowest shutter speed you should have for the 35 is 1/40, which is still decently fast.

Not that I know of. For Canon I think IS for prime lens is at the telephoto to super telephoto range only except for the 24mm F2.8 and the 28mm F2.8.
