HELP SD CARD ERROR
« on: December 06, 2009, 12:42:29 PM »
Hi PiPhols,

I photographed for our company event yesterday and took around 480+ shots using an 8GB SD Card.  All seemed well last night as I was still able to view all pictures in my camera before packing my things up.

Just this morning when I was trying to upload my pics via car reader thru Bridge, it got thru to around 100+ pictures then it suddenly stopped.  A message displayed something like the card was busy or something--I thought that maybe the cable was just disconnected so I tried to connect and reconnect the card reader again and again but now my PC won't even read the card.

Decided to go My Computer and check the contents and folders of the card, and there I saw folders with garbled characters na!  At this time I was thinking "oh *toink*!"  So I decided to check images thru my camera again hoping the 480+ shots could still be read by my camera...  But it could only read 100+ shots.

What can I do if my card has been corrupted?  I know the situation is quite bleak but if anyone knows of a way to help me out, I would greatly appreciate it!

TIA

Sir, what brand of SD card are you using? If you're lucky, you can download a recovery software from the manufacturer online. Kindly google.

My reco next time, use sandisk.

Cheers!

@Willie

Apparently, you had the other file photo in your SD card corrupted.

Be careful in removing your SD card from your camera. See to it that the camera is turned off before you take off the SD card. Removing the SD card when the camera is on will likely cause your files to be corrupted. I should know, I have been through the same situation.
Very truly yours, Bengot

and also, don't interrupt the card reader while downloading and get a branded card reader
such as sandisk.
Let the good times roll.
