ok. Salamat. If here are issues, baka sa mga north american supply siguro. 5dMll's are back ordered everywhere in Canada and the US.

The AF of my 5DII is not as good as the focusing system of the ID series but it is sufficient for my needs.

There is also a poster at the EOS 1D/1Ds/5D forum of Dpreview who claims t o own a 5DII. He complains a lot about the focusing system of the 5DII and openly promotes Sony DSLR in that forum. Check out this thread “everybody is switching to sony now” (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1032&thread=32830600)

@bandana I wouldn't trust whinger posts like that. The best you can do is meet up with forumers who have the cam and ask to test it yourself. Or if there's a canon event you can try their demo 5D2 unit.

none on my side. though i miss my last camera's fast AF (though it's quiet unfair as the E-3 + an SWD lens has ultra ultra ultra fast AF) i can say that my 5D's AF is ok with me.

The unit I have doesn't have focusing issues. I use it to shoot in low light settings and ok naman. The review looks very suspect.  ???

The 5dMKII center focus is the only one that is cross and has hidden AF assist points around it.  So in almost all shooting sitiations center focus recompose lang ang pinaka reliable. The other 8 AF points are not that accurate. For moving subjects AI Servo center focus is also reliable, the sides are not.

9 AF points was the biggest disappointment in the 5DMKII specs, now that Nikon 51 AF module is installed in the D3, D3X, D700, D300 and D300s.

Parang pareho lang focusing ng Mark2 sa 5d Mark1. Almost the same. Same as raffy sana they could have improved the af points by adding more, or making all of them cross type. But I guess that's reserved for the 1d series talaga. I'm not complaning. Ang ganda talaga ng IQ ng 5d.

I noticed faster focusing with my 5dmkII using L lenses.  Perhaps that is the most important feature of getting to L...
May it be lowlight or not, the L series rocks.

from 40d, i would say that AF is one of 5D2's weak points (pop-up flash wtf! :().

glad that 580EXII has good AF assist beam. but overall, im very happy w/it. ;)
