Whisper of Spring

"Always photograph red in nature" was an expert's advice that I've always apply to my nature photography. When I found these batch of California poppies during my scouting time, I know that I have found a good foreground.

I saw these field of golden yarrow when I was hiking at mid day, then I decided to return at sunset on the same day. I was so glad I returned and captured the golden glow of the afternoon's magic light.

Field of Dreams

I've made a startling discovery last week, I went hiking and saw a ridge carpeted with wildflowers by the millions and I just couldn't believe that there were so many wildflowers close to where I live! I've been to this ridge 5 sunsets already since the first time I saw it.

Wild Silhouette

Fence of Dreams

I love wildflowers. Whenever I'm scouting for scenic or wild places, I'm always looking for a batch or fields of wildflowers and when I spotted one, I know I found a great foreground.

Hello Jojo, thanks for viewing :) I've been photographing nature since Feb 2009,hehe halos 5 days/week ako mag hiking and out of my almost 100 hiking trips since feb, dalawang beses lang nakasama sa akin si Rochelle. Mag beach hopping sana kami sa Big Sur and Big Basin Redwood forest nung June 20, kaya lang bigla sya umuwi sa Pilipinas nung June 17, emergency eh. Bro pagbalik mo dito eh mag wilderness hopping naman tayo nina Rochelle ;). I will post a hundred more images ;D

Nice to hear that your into nature now.  Why dont you post your tabletopper images? I am very sure that they will like them too. :D I sent you a PM.  Hope to see you guys in a couple of months.  Same old assignment from the magazine.

Again, you got the talent man! Keep it up!

Hi Veras, Yosemite looks most magical when covered in snow and the light is very dramatic and the Merced river is barely flowing so it's perfect for reflection shots.
Please see my shooting buddy's images of Yosemite in Wintertime http://www.flickr.com/photos/21960399@N06/sets/72157606941080351/

Curves and Shadows in the Mist

I love photographing a scene in the mist during sunrise, the light is truly magical. I always check the weather forecast the night prior to my hiking trips. The weather forecast for this valley: no wind (3mph max), clear skies, high pressure and low in temperature overnight.

I just love nature photography, now I'm starting to love meteorology also.

Just want to revive this thread with my latest wild and scenic shot. Lately, I've been going out more but shooting less. I've been spending half of my hiking time to enjoy a place and half capturing its beauty.

Whisper of Summer

My vision of landscape is colorful foregrounds and colorful skies. I achieved colorful sky by shooting at sunrise and sunset, but to achieved colorful foreground, I always rely on my hiking boots ;D

Field of Innocence

I've been making some images in this field of mayweeds for the past 3 weeks and been successful with what I have envisioned. I return to this same spot yesterday and to my dismay, the field was already out of season! Just glad that I captured its beauty at its peak.

Goodbye Sunshine

When I say colorful foregrounds, I always mean batches or fields of wildflowers. About two months ago, I drove 4 hours to El Portal, California (10 miles west of Yosemite) and hiked additional 9 hours deep into the wild Merced River just to photograph fields of wildflowers ( I haven't got the chance to view my files yet ;D).

The Smile of Dusk

...more to come.

One thing I love about the Bay Area is the place is filled with wildflowers wherever you go. I only learned in my last trip that it was against the law to pick or destroy these poppy flowers, hehe. The strange thing is it's not illegal to use weed killer on them. Strange.

Nice new images Allan.
