Fuji DSLR's
« on: May 01, 2006, 03:12:11 PM »
A friend of mione was offered a Fuji DSLR for a low price... He was asking me if I think it's "sulit" for the price... I have no prior experience with Fuji DSLR's so I couldnt answer his question... my answer was that of a typical and loyal Canon user "Canon na lang kunin mo" hehehe

So any of you guys use Fuji DSLR's? So far I havent heard or met someone from this forum that uses them... any reviews on them?

btw the DSLR is being sold at 20K

thanks!

S1? S2? S3?

Fuji has one of the best, if not the best white balance and color straight out of the camera. The downside with Fuji is its a slow processing of images. Due to this weakness, its best suited for studio work.

Since Fuji doesn't manufacture their own camera body, they use Nikon film bodies which they convert to digital, so functions between camera and digital part is not as seamless as a Nikon DSLR. Fuji also don't have access to Nikon's newer flash metering such as the i-TTL, which seems to be reserved for Nikon's own line of cameras only. The S1 is based on the F65 while the S2 and S3 are based on the F80 cameras, both cameras are of consumer quality in terms of built and other functions such as better AF found in Nikon's pro bodies.

Yep, you got that right - Best color out of camera!!!  Super rich colors!

Wishing that S3 price wld drop to the likes of D70s... then maybe get one (day dreaming... ;D)

For 20k - (If S2) good buy!!

The photogs that covered my wedding last year used both Canon and Fuji  for the coverage.  I agree with the comments above.  The raw pics straight from the camera were excellent,  very natural skin tones. ;D

Hi, sorry for digging up an old thread, but I'd like to know the relationship between Nikon and Fuji. Fuji seems to emulate Nikon, or something to that effect, like their S5Pro using the D200 body etc. and I've heard that some Nikon lenses are compatible with Fujifilm SLRs? Are they sister companies?

Fuji has a nikon mount so they use nikon lenses. I'm not sure though about any tie up of sorts between the two companies.

fuji also doesn't make its own bodies, they mostly borrow the design from nikon or get oem bodies and slap in their stuff.

hmm so is it safe to assume that Fuji DSLRs also benefit from Nikon technologies like AF-S and VR?
