EW-83II hood for Canon 10-22mm/16-35mm/17-40mm
« on: July 11, 2008, 07:17:26 PM »
How useful is this hood really? It looks lik its too short to block off any flares and such so I usually end up just leaving it at home. Anyone have any good experiences to share with this accessory?

it will work for the 10-22 on the cropped body. for the 17-40 or 16-35 it will work on the full frame body.

Yes, ask Ms.G, she sometimes substitutes them as a bracelet or armband... maybe you should try it too! ;D :D ;D

I have one and don't see the difference with or without  ;D
I still usually block the sunlight on top of the lens to provide shade.
The EW-83H on the other hand is better but has vignetting when wide open.
Let the good times roll.

i usually use the hood pang-porma lang eh, pero don't see the effectiveness of it. kapag pinasok ko sa lens case, hindi pa kasya yung hood sa lens case. bought a lowepro 4s pa. then after such, i decided not to use the hood, and then sold the 4s na lang.

i have it for the EFS 10-22. pero sa sobrang lapad niya, di magkasya kasama ng ibang gamit sa bag or lens pouch. madalas maiwan siya sa drybox.

hehehe...same here...pang porma lang   ;D
i also bought an external pouch attached to my cam bag, that is where i put the lens hood.
