Question re:Model Release
Jeto:
My daughter was chosen to take part in some pictorials. I want to do what is right ;D
hahahaha
Its for a publishing house
My questions are:
1. How does the MR work?
2. Does it say in the MR that the pictures can only be used for a certain magazine or book? Or the publishing house can use the pictures on ANY of their products?
3. Does the MR have any duration? say 1 year from the day of the shoot, afterwhich they can not use those pictures again?
Any insights would surely be appreciated.
ranma2463:
Will she be paid for it?
If so, normal going rate for amateur models is P8,000 per lay-out/medium, minimum use of 3months maximum of 1 year.
Lay-out refers to the number of settings that is going to be used.
Medium refers to the print collaterals (ie: flyers, print ad, banners, etc)
So if she's coming out with a beach shot, club shot and it will come out in a print ad and flyer, minimum charge would be around P32K.
After one year (if this is the agreed duration) if the company wants to use her images again, they only have to pay 75% of the original rate, then another 75% the year after.
If she's not going to be paid for it, request for the publishing house to ask for your permission (as guardian) if they can reuse the image.
Best if you consult with a talent manager re this. Bka maging royalty free image yung anak mo and I dont think you'd want your daughter's face all over the web...
Peace! ;D

thanks.
How about the use of the image? would it be limited to a product or to all the products that the company produces?
